3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I don't really eat out but I heard its decent

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: I don't go out so this is based off what I heard.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: FSU is awesome. The students are awesome and so are the teachers. Football games are huge events that are always fun, and if you are a foodie, Tallahassee has great and unique options to offer you.

Nightlife: FSU definitely has a lot of nightlife options for students. There are many different clubs and bars, but parking sucks if you want to go to any of these places. If you are smart and don't drive though, there are many cheap transportation options for students.

Campus Strictness: FSU is strict where it counts with serious topics such as alcohol, drugs, and crime, but it still allows students to have fun and enjoy the college atmosphere. FSU provides a nice balance for students.

Overall Experience: The student-centered environment at FSU is unmatched.

Campus Housing: Some dorms are awesome, some are moldy.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Some bad areas in Tallahassee, but off campus housing is usually great.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: RAs are cool, undercover cops are not.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: Financial aid office is understaffed and hard to work with.

Computers: Wifi tends to go down during class registration.

2 College Senior

Parking: Free permits, almost impossible parking.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Tallahassee doesn't have the food options that a big city would have, but there are lots of options close to campus that fit the budget of a college student and more expensive options a drive away from campus.

Weather: It stays warm for most of the year, with the exception of January and February. The biggest annoyance are the summer storms at the beginning of fall semester.

Local Atmosphere: Although Tallahassee is the state capital, it is still a college town and feels empty when students are not around. There are definitely things to do if you know where to look.

Campus Dining: There are two dining halls on campus as well as a variety of other options across campus and at the student union building where you can use your flexbucks and garnetbucks.

Campus Strictness: FSU is fairly good at making sure students follow the campus rules, especially when considering how large the campus is.

Overall Experience: If I had to choose my school again, I would definitely choose Florida State. It offered me a diverse student population, lots of academic choices, and the opportunity to watch lectures by important people such as Joe Biden and Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson.

4 College Senior

Computers: There is wifi available throughout most of campus, which is very lucky, but it's only good when it actually works. I have often had problems connecting to the wireless while in my dorm.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: As a non-Greek, I can still very much feel the presence of sororities and fraternities on campus. Greek life is a very popular thing here.

5 College Senior

Athletics: There is so much love for Florida State here, both for the athletic teams and the school in general. People are generally very proud to be a Nole.

3 College Senior

Parking: There is not enough parking for the large number of students on campus, but having a car is still useful if you plan on doing activities off campus. You just need to learn the traffic patterns on campus.

5 College Senior

Facilities: The workout facilities are newly renovated and really nice to use. The student union building is central to student life and is located conveniently, especially if you live on campus.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
