Weather: It's pretty rainy in Florida. That doesn't really affect traffic, it's just inconvenient.

Scholarships: They don't really help you when it comes to this. You need to get all the information on your own.

Transportation: Getting around the town is very easy and very cost effective. Many of the transportation services are free, expect the FSU Taxi which is $5.

Parking: Lots of places to park on campus, but you have to get there before 8:15 if you have early classes, because that's when it starts to fill up.

Guys & Girls: Differently big on night life, this school. There's a reason it's considered one of the top party schools.

Overall Experience: The school spirit that both students and faculty have is something that surprises me. I realize that this is a college campus, but everyone wears some sort of school gear. I come from a college town, and I have never seen such spirit like I see at FSU.

Athletics: People definitely show support for the team, regardless of the sport. The most popular on campus are mens football and mens basketball but both the faculty and the respective teams are pushing for more support for the womens athletics.

Local Atmosphere: The experience that is new to me since moving here from Columbus, Ohio is how one Wednesday in each month the city of Florida has Artwalk where the communities come out and showcase the talent. If it ballet, painting, or rapping I find that very interesting and it brings life to the city and I love that experience.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
