3 College Junior

Greek Life: I rushed my freshman year, and the girls seemed like they already knew who they wanted in their sorority. It seemed that if you were not a size zero, had blonde or brunette hair, and was not a cheerleader in high school you were basically out.

3 College Junior

Weather: During the summer it is super hot and during the winter it can be cold or up in the 70s. It is very much like northern weather.

5 College Junior

Academics: Teachers are there for students and willing to work with students. They stick to their curriculum along with talking about current events that influence the field.

4 College Junior

Academics: There seems to be a big variety of courses and study areas offered at FSU. The teachers are always there for students and willing to work with them.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Students vary from wearing dresses and dressing up for class to wearing Nike shorts and tank tops to class.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are a ton of restaurants that are great places for students to go to. There is a great variety between dives and local places to great restaurants that you want to go to on a date night!

3 College Junior

Diversity: Many of the Greek population is not as accepting as minorities as others. I feel that they are more willing to voice how they are not accepting of students of different races.

Facilities: The teachers are really there for you. There are always professors that are going to be rude, but overall I have had some great experiences with all of the professors. They are always willing to work with you and schedule an appointment with you.

4 College Junior

Facilities: There are a plethora of activities and clubs to get involved with. There is always an opportunity for someone to be involved and feel wanted at FSU.

3 College Junior

Computers: I feel that not many people know how to use these resources.

College Sophomore

Majors: I don't have an internship. I plan to apply for one in the next two years.

Majors: I love my program. I plan to work as a Geologist, starting off in the petroleum industry.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: If you are looking to dine off campus there are a variety of choices to choose from- varying in taste and price.

Off-Campus Housing: There are a lot student apartments available. I don't live in one, so don't have a valuable opinion on it.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I feel like I am stuck in a funny place. My parents make too much money for me to get financial aid, but I pay for my own tuition and my measly part time job doesn't afford me much besides gas & groceries. I have decent grades, but not beautiful enough grades to merit another scholarship.

Health & Safety: It could just be because my mother is a sexual assault examiner, but I wouldn't feel entirely safe walking alone at night around campus.

College Sophomore

Greek Life: I have no interest in it and haven't learned enough about greek life in my campus to have an opinion.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: I like attending undergrad in Tallahassee. It has what I need. There are a variety of extra-curricular activities to get involved in, especially if you are interested in personal fitness. We have one good shopping mall.

College Sophomore

Athletics: I know football is a major thing at FSU. I don't like football and therefore have no valuable opinion on this.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Much of the school is made of brick. The campus is really pretty. The facilities, for the most part, are fabulous (with some exeptions).

College Sophomore

Facilities: FSU has a good gym and massive library open 24/7.

College Sophomore

Nightlife: My life is school, work, family, friends, and physical activity. If a friend is having a party I may go, but I am not paying attention to the party options each night. I couldn't care less.

Campus Strictness: I don't go out of my way to misbehave on school grounds, so I've not come into contact with any of these problems.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: I really have no opinion. I try not to spend money on food any other place besides the grocery store.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
