5 College Freshman

Scholarships: The scholarships available are great! They are mostly based on academics, and some you don't even need to apply for, you're automatically granted them when you are accepted to the university.

Weather: It's cool in fall but since it's Florida, it won't ever get too cold. So far, the coldest it's been while I was there has been in the 30's. It's never too hot either, there's always a breeze.

Facilities: The Landis Green is a place where many activities occur. You will always see people practicing for Ultimate Frisbee, people juggling (sometimes with fire at night), people lounging in hammocks, people LARPing, people playing instruments, and others just hanging out in the grass.

Events are also on the green, including many of the Honors Association and the meetings of the Society of Tea Drinkers. There are tables set up throughout the year of clubs and other associations, and free giveaways.

The Union is also great, it holds larger events and there are many rooms available for club meetings.

Facilities: We have our own circus! It's run by students and has a tent and all sorts of acts. It's great, and free for students of the school!

Computers: The printing is decently priced and average quality, and color printing is picky and you have to make sure you read the options because it automatically checks "double sided" printing. Though if the printing goes down in the main library, a TargetCopy is only a 5 minute walk away. Though it's more convenient to have your own printer and not deal with those problems. And computers are hogged during finals week.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There are a lot of attractive males on campus, often jogging or at the gym.

Transportation: There is are long-distance buses that stop right on campus, but some are very expensive for convenience and amenities like WiFi.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The people are really nice, but as soon as you step off campus you feel like you're in a run-down place.

4 College Freshman

Majors: My program had a separate application to enter, and not all that were accepted to the University were necessarily accepted to the program.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I get to take classes on the things I love!

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Our football team dominates. And our Quidditch team isn't half bad. The school is very spirited in everything it does.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I like the blue emergency lights I see everywhere I go.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: On game days they are not that strict.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I got everything i needed. Just contact office if help is needed.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: We just need more visitor parking.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Lots of computer labs and renting computers in libraries is convenient.

5 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Over 18 and you're good.

Health & Safety: The ghetto is kind of near campus so they tend to rob people once in a while.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There's a variety of people.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Some places are better then others but overall good.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Everything is conveniently close to campus.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: You don't have to do drugs to fit in.

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I'm in a sorority. Greek life is huge but if you're not in one, you won't have as much fun but will still have fun. Some view us as bad and some view us as good.

4 College Sophomore

Parking: You don't need a car at FSU but it's convenient. There should be less teacher parking and a few more student spots. Overall not bad.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: It's Florida so it's kind of unpredictable but people still support.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
