Health & Safety: It could just be because my mother is a sexual assault examiner, but I wouldn't feel entirely safe walking alone at night around campus.

College Sophomore

Greek Life: I have no interest in it and haven't learned enough about greek life in my campus to have an opinion.

Local Atmosphere: I like attending undergrad in Tallahassee. It has what I need. There are a variety of extra-curricular activities to get involved in, especially if you are interested in personal fitness. We have one good shopping mall.

College Sophomore

Athletics: I know football is a major thing at FSU. I don't like football and therefore have no valuable opinion on this.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Much of the school is made of brick. The campus is really pretty. The facilities, for the most part, are fabulous (with some exeptions).

College Sophomore

Facilities: FSU has a good gym and massive library open 24/7.

College Sophomore

Nightlife: My life is school, work, family, friends, and physical activity. If a friend is having a party I may go, but I am not paying attention to the party options each night. I couldn't care less.

Campus Strictness: I don't go out of my way to misbehave on school grounds, so I've not come into contact with any of these problems.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: I really have no opinion. I try not to spend money on food any other place besides the grocery store.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: I love my classes. I love my teachers. I am excited for the future and the possibilities it holds.

Academics: FSU is a great place to go if you are planning to go into the sciences. Know what is expected of you and out in the appropriate effort to succeed. The library is huge and open 24/7.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: I have my own personal laptop I rely on. I have no personal opinion, but I have heard good things about the computer labs.

College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: If your looking for a relationship, there are many many people to potentially meet.

Athletics: The stadium is always filled whenever we have a home game. People who cannot make it watch it on tv. People paint themselves our school colors and we do the Seminole war chant ever so often.

Drug Safety: As with any college, alcohol and drugs are readily available. But that doesn't mean everyone actually uses them. I don't drink or do drugs, and neither do my group of friends that I spend most of my time with. We have great times in school organizations and events, and we have movie nights and make cookies and just hang out and have a blast without any alcohol or drugs.

Yet many of the people I know at the school, including my roommate, drink alcohol on a regular basis, and so do the friends that surround them. If they get caught, however, it won't be pretty. You don't ever see anyone drinking on campus, it's always stories and usually of a place off campus.

Diversity: It's such a big campus full of many international students and people from across the states, and I've never noticed intolerance of any sort.

Campus Dining: Many people dread going to the Suwannee Room dining hall, but since I'm not that picky, I'm fine with eating there daily. Sometimes the food is actually really good! And I have a vegan friend that also eats there, and the staff are nice and make vegan options when he asks.

Scholarships: The scholarships available are great! They are mostly based on academics, and some you don't even need to apply for, you're automatically granted them when you are accepted to the university.

Weather: It's cool in fall but since it's Florida, it won't ever get too cold. So far, the coldest it's been while I was there has been in the 30's. It's never too hot either, there's always a breeze.

Facilities: We have our own circus! It's run by students and has a tent and all sorts of acts. It's great, and free for students of the school!

5 College Freshman

Facilities: The Landis Green is a place where many activities occur. You will always see people practicing for Ultimate Frisbee, people juggling (sometimes with fire at night), people lounging in hammocks, people LARPing, people playing instruments, and others just hanging out in the grass.

Events are also on the green, including many of the Honors Association and the meetings of the Society of Tea Drinkers. There are tables set up throughout the year of clubs and other associations, and free giveaways.

The Union is also great, it holds larger events and there are many rooms available for club meetings.

4 College Freshman

Computers: The printing is decently priced and average quality, and color printing is picky and you have to make sure you read the options because it automatically checks "double sided" printing. Though if the printing goes down in the main library, a TargetCopy is only a 5 minute walk away. Though it's more convenient to have your own printer and not deal with those problems. And computers are hogged during finals week.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There are a lot of attractive males on campus, often jogging or at the gym.

Transportation: There is are long-distance buses that stop right on campus, but some are very expensive for convenience and amenities like WiFi.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The people are really nice, but as soon as you step off campus you feel like you're in a run-down place.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
