3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: I'd like to see more video surveillance at the school. this could reduce the number of law breaking offenses and give officers more time to do real investigative work

Athletics: not much student spirit...at least not like UF

Off-Campus Dining: same as any other location

Weather: it doesn't really affect a campus experience...that's like saying that the weather affects how well I do on an exam. the two are unrelated causes

Greek Life: Partying does nothing to benefit a student and only creates a distraction or bad influences that will forever affect students

Scholarships: students aren't informed of good scholarship opportunities.

Diversity: There are many different clubs for diversity.

Off-Campus Housing: I am currently an on campus student looking for off campus housing next year and I've had the opportunity to look at various options. As expected the apartments closest to school are more expensive, but that's because they're attractive and safe. That being said, there are plenty of options for students further from school which are cheaper without sacrificing the safety and quality of living.

Athletics: Intramural sports drive the competitive spirit of students here at Florida State when the big name sports like football, volleyball, baseball, etc aren't in season. Many of the greek and non-greek students alike on campus play against one another in a great variety of IM sports and proudly wear shirts displaying which years they were champions and whatnot. This is a very active school and the drive to win isn't limited to just our varsity athletes.

Drug Safety: Drinking and drug abuse happens, especially in college. Fortunately the number of students that actually partake in these activities outweigh the number of students that do. I'm in a fraternity and choose not to drink and that's the end of that. There are strict rules on campus that keep students from abusing any kind of alcohol or drug. One has to go out of their way to find access to either.

Campus Housing: Every one living on campus is incredibly friendly. Immediately upon moving in I've made friends with my roommates and other residents in my hall. Each residence has its own culture almost. Some halls are known for being fun and alive all night and others are known for being a fun place to interact and socialize. There is no bad hall on campus really, it's all what you make of it.

Transportation: The bus system isn't 24/7 but I understand there isn't huge demand for a bus ride at 3 am on a Tuesday night and that the bus drivers themselves also deserve time off.

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: I don't go out often, but I hear a lot from my friends about what options are available to students looking for a good time. There are a variety of bars and clubs within walking distance of campus. I don't know much about the party scene aside from the fact that there's always at least one big party each weekend.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
