Weather: Not Bad – The weather is usually pretty stable, just really hot. Because of the hills, when it does rain the city flood quickly. The drainage system is very quick in drying up the roads, once the rain slows.

5 College Senior

Transportation: Very Effective – Have the campus buses that run every 15 mins, the city buses are free for FSU students with a college id

2 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Not to Strict – not very strict in my opinion, not strict at all actually

3 College Senior

Academics: Challenging but Rewarding – The coursework is challenging but the internship opportunities are amazing.

5 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I have gone to several different schools for visits, and Florida State had by far the best dining options. There are two dining halls located on campus, which offer a very wide variety of foods, all fresh and delicious. Being a vegetarian I thought it would be very hard to find food that I would be able to eat, but not at FSU! There are specific counters in each dining hall that offer vegetarian and vegan food, which I found absolutley amazing, they sold me at that! The food is always delicious and is never greasy or overly fried, I eat there twice a day, and I love it!

5 College Junior

Greek Life: I Love It – Joining the greek life at my school was the best decision I made. I joined as a sophomore and can definetely say it has made me appreciate my school way more. Whenever the school is hosting an event of any sort the first organization they turn to is Greek life. Therefore, you know everything that is going on in school and have a foot in the door in basically anything you want to join. I love it!

Local Atmosphere: Perfect College Town – Although Tallahassee is the capital, so there is a lot going on. It is also the perfect college town. The spirit of the city is undeniable when it comes to supporting the school-- whether it be in community service, sporting events, or academics. It is also such a great college experience to be in a town where the majority of the people you are around are also students or somehow related to the school.

Nightlife: Too Many Cops – Apparently there are mor police per capita in Tallahassee, Fl than any other city in Florida. This includes cities like Miami and Orlando. That fact alone leads to high arrest rates for drunk drivers and just drunk people in general. If you go to a bar here make sure you don't drive even if you only had 1 beer.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Leech Center – One of the best gyms I have ever been too. Top of the line athletic equipment, full track, and hot tubs.

4 College Junior

Computers: Strozier Library – The computers at the main campus library are top of the line. As for the rest of campus, well some computers are pretty trash. Saw some 386s the other day.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Greasy Greeks – there are a lot of frat guys and sorority girls. it's not all bad, but seeing girls painted orange and guys with crooked hats gets old pretty quick.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: The dorms aren't bad, but they are extremely expensive, costing more than a lot of the apartments around campus.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Proximity Is Good, Parking Is Terrible – There are plenty of decent apartments/houses around the campus, but the parking can be a nightmare. Some places charge up to $100 for a parking decal and the tow companies are like vultures. Besides all that, off-campus housing is pretty nice.

Facilities: Beautiful Campus With Excelent Academics – Florida State University has one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. Even after a little more than a year, i still am amazed by the scenery walking to class. The school spirit is alive and well, especially during game days. Even with this the academics are extremely good. All of my Prof's really seem to enjoy what they are doing and really want the students to learn the material rather than just make the grade.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: Diversity at Florida State is pretty apparent. Over half of the student body is female with races ranging from all corners of the world. There is also a great feeling of acceptance in clubs, organizations and societies.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Students receive text alerts to the cell phones when there is an incident that could affect the students. Campus police are visible all around campus as well as emergency poles placed very conveniently. and the campus is well lit at night.

Parking: Parking permits are free but I truely believe Freshman should not be allowed to bring cars to school OR if you live in a dorm you should not be able to bring a car. All of our parking is mostly cars students living in dorms cars just sitting in parking lots while those off campus (in no way can a large percentage of people live on campus). Many have to leave 45 minutes before class to find a spot even if you do find a spot it may be across campus from where you need to be. I personally need a car because I live off campus. There are meatered spots which I beleive is COMPLETELY unnecessary. Every spot should be a student FREE spot, unless it is a teachers spot

Athletics: Student involvement doesn't get any better, team performance goes up and down but we are on our upstide. School Spirit is un believeably great. If it's possible there are too many fans.

3 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: It's very rare to find a student discount and most good restaraunts are a bit too far away that it's just to far while I'm so busy. I really love eating at Mr. Roboto, and I wish Logans Roadhouse and Olive Garden were closer, and good drink specials considering this is a college town

2 College Sophomore

Weather: Hot, Hot, Hot! The weather at FSU is intense. We are talking about 300% humidity intense! The hot days are hotter than anything in all of Florida, and the cold days are the coldest in all of Florida as well. Seriously, the weather is always at one of the extremes.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: Plan Yourself an Extra Hour – FSU parking is not for the weak and definitely not for those of the impatient variety. Plan an extra hour of hunting for that perfect spot and hope it's anywhere near the place you need to be at.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: The student union is full of whatever food you could possibly desire during your studious days. There's everything from Starbucks to an Einstein's Bagel shop. If I want sushi or Japanese, I head straight to Miso's for the best food straight from the land of the rising sun. Once all that food is in my gut, I know the Leach Center gym is ready for me to get right back into shape. The entire FSU campus is perfectly molded around it's students.

3 Recent Alumnus

Transportation: I Like My Car – There is plenty of transportation available but I have never utilized them.

3 Recent Alumnus

Drug Safety: Say No to Drugs – To my knowledge, drugs are not a huge problem at Florida State University. I see more drinking than drugs.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: I have never lived in the dorms at FSU but I have stayed in one for a soccer camp. It was a newer dorm but I prefer apartments.
