Campus Housing: Up and Coming – Freshman dorms are not the best, however, FSU is in the process of demolishing and replacing 2 of the oldest dorms. That being said, campus living is very convenient since parking can be brutal. The University does have a transit system with buses running all day and into the early evening. Lots of great places to eat, watch movies, bowl right on campus.

Health & Safety: Personal Safety – I feel very safe on campus all the time, police is always available when needed.

Parking: The parking is the one bad thing about FSU. I live off campus and in order to make it to class on time I have to leave my apartment an hour early to ensure that I will find parking.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of Options – There are so many places to eat of campus! There is a good variety right off campus but there is a lot more in Tallahassee that is delicious. As long as you have a car you should be good.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: Pretty Good – The food is pretty good. The nice thing is that there are always a lot of options and there are always sandwiches, salads, cereal, pizza and dessert along with other options. For the most part my dining experience has been good. There have only been a few times that I have been disappointed.

Campus Strictness: MIX SAFETY WITH FUN – HERE AT FSU, THE CAMPUS ALLOWS FOR STUDENTS TO EXPERIMENT WITH THEIR INDEPENDANCE AND FINALLY BEING AWAY FROM HOME BUT ALSO MAKES SURE THAT EVEYRONE DOES IT IN A SAFE WAY THAT DOES NOT PUT THEM OR OTHERS AT RISK.

Greek Life: MAKE ONE OF THE LARGEST UNIVERSITIES SEEM SMALL – IF YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF SOMETHING, GOING GREEK IS THE WAY TO BE. GREEK LIFE CAN BE SEEN IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE SEMINOLE LIFE.

Athletics: ACC CHAMPIONSHIP & MARCH MADNESS – WE'RE THE UNDERDOG WHO MADE IT TO THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIP IN FOOTBALL AND EVEN BEAT OUT NOTRE DAME IN BASKETBALL DURING MARCH MADNESS.

Transportation: All Aboard the Trolley – FSU Panama City main transportation relies on the trolley or the campus shuttle. If students need to get somewhere quickly or in a timely manner it is best just to use your own car. The campus parking lots are great and well-kept so there is no threats of break-ins.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Cut & Dry – The Panama City Campus is more diverse in the age range of students. There you'll find people of various ages obtaining there degrees. Nonetheless, the campus lacks a solid minority population. But, everyone is still friendly regardless of race or age.

Off-Campus Housing: Off Campus Living – Housing on the Panama City campus is totally on the students. The campus isn't as big as main campus so everyone commutes to school. If you check the Student Affairs Office though, there are flyers for potential housing.

Weather: Well Hello There, Sunshine – Living in Florida, we usually have great weather all year round. In springtime, it is usually very sunny and people usually lay out on the grass, in their bathing suits, in front of their dorms or on Landis Green, which is a very popular place to gather and hang out. Summertime, many students go back home and campus is usually very quiet but one can observe other students just sitting outside reading, doing their, homework, riding their bikes, and skateboarding, just to enjoy the beautiful weather. A lot more outdoor activities being to occur like frisbee games and water balloon fights. When fall comes around, the leaves begin to change colors and this is when more indoor activities begin but this is also when our football season begins and everyone is usually very pumped up and ready for that to begin. When winter begins, it can get very cold here. To others 20 and 30 degree weather may not be considered cold, but when one is used to 70 and 80 degree weather all year long, a couple days of this cold weather can be brutal.

Drug Safety: Not So Bad – Alcohol and marijuana are the most widely used drugs at Florida State. I have yet to see any one use any sort of hard drugs like ecstasy, heroin, or crack around me even though I am sure they are being used. Some students have experimented with cocaine but for the most part, people stick to marijuana and alcohol on the weekends.

Nightlife: Florida State is known for the amount of parties that go on every day of the week. There are a plethora of clubs to choose from, and every day of the week, there is a club that has a larger crowd than others. For example, there is a pub called Potbelly's that is very popular for FSU students because it is located relatively close to campus and they have drinks for a reasonable price. However, for those that do not have the expenses to go out to the club that often, there are usually parties thrown weekly by sororities and fraternities that are usually free. Another plus is that FSU has a bus system that runs from 9PM to 3AM that hits almost all of the popular places that are frequently visited by us college students. This service is completely free and was put into place to prevent students from getting behind the wheel while they are intoxicated. Just previously implemented, there is a taxi service, funded by FSU's SGA, that will pick up passengers and take them anywhere in Tallahassee for a small fee of $5.

Athletics: School Spirit – Everyone goes to the home football games. I haven't been to many others but you can hear how many people are there if you walk by. Everyone on campus is always wearing their Florida State apparel. I'm in the Marching Chiefs and we always go do stuff like pep rallies which are so much better in college!

Academics: Registration is very simple. Each major has an academic map that is available online if you can't meet with your advisor. Your advisor will tell you what classes you need to take to graduate and also suggest optional courses that can enhance your degree. Registration opens at different times according to how many credits you have. The system has never given me a problem.

Computers: There are several computer labs located around campus, a short distance from most dorms on campus. Some are available for specific majors only which makes it easier to get in. The libraries also have computers and printers where you can print things for cheap.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The experience here is amazing if you make it. Everything is so fun and exciting, but you REALLY need to keep your head above water in your classes. Some are very, very tough.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Hard to Get Good Housing – Unless you have a great priority number, don't expect a great setup. All roommates I have had have been dreadful. The dorms are overpriced a LOT and meal plans are required for most. You definitely get more for your money off campus.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Everything about the computers in the labs and libraries are great...expect for the fact that most of them are taken most of the time.

2 College Senior

Campus Dining: the Fresh Food is the main dining hall, but they basically have same food every day. it is a buffet style.

2 College Senior

Health & Safety: polices are everywhere but crime happens sometimes.

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: very school oriented city, there is Governor's square mall if you like shopping.
4 major clubs.
3 parks
school has football, baseball and basketball team if you are a sports fan.

4 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: FSU gives you an opportunity to apply for FAFSA when you enroll into the university. They let you know when there are scholarships available.

5 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: Social Life – The social life surrounded by FSU is great. They are very close to campus and dorms so they are very convenient. There are a lot of bars that are close to campus to entertain students.
