Local Atmosphere: Seminole Life – theres numerous activities that one can engage in here. for example, FSU has a wonderful business frat. here that allows one to improve his/her leadership skills, along with becoming a humanitarian. The all famous leach is a three story gym where getting healthy, along with engaging in fitness workouts become popular. the rez. is also a wonderful place to enjoy peace and quiet, and learn about others cultures.

Campus Strictness: Dorm Quiet Hours Do NOTHING – There are supposed to be quiet hours during test time but they are never really enforced unless someone really complains about it. Besides that, nothing is really that strict.

2 College Senior

Greek Life: I do not generally notice the greek life at our school except for when they are rushing each fall semester. They have a lot to do with homecoming events and big parties off campus but it doesn't affect the rest of the student body unless they're connected to it in some way.

4 College Senior

Computers: The computers at our school are really good but sometimes they are not all functioning. It's nice to have a personal computer for note taking purposes but it isn't that important. You can get by without a computer if you can't afford one. You can always find a computer too, you just need to know where all the labs are. There are a ton, tehy're j

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: The Leach Recreation center is so nice. They have 3 floors of workout machines as well as a weight room and other facilities. The pool always has free lanes and there are TV's everywhere. They have free classes available all day, every day.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Our atheletic programs are top-notch and great to watch. They are treated like royalty but work hard to deserve it. Go Noles!

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Attractive Girls and Rude Boys – Florida State has many good looking girls strolling the campus. While the boys are good looking as well, most of them are shallow and party too often. There are some guys who are genuine, but they are hard to find.

3 College Junior

Diversity: Diverse - but Barely – Every group s represented - but the vast majority seems to be white.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Safe If You're Smart – The campus security does an excellent job - but i wouldn't go anywhere without people at night - even to the library.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Buses and More Buses. The Nole buses at FSU are completely free and take you all around campus and off campus to the local student apartments. Buses are running all the time and at convenient times. Its a very organized bus system for students to use. The city bus system is also free for FSU students and takes you anywhere that the Nole bus syetem doesn't. Only bad part is that the city bus system sometimes passes by once every hour at most locations.

4 College Junior

Nightlife: The Strip! Nightlife at FSU is more for the 21 and above crowd. We have an area referred to as "the strip" where are the major clubs and bars are at. Its actually located right across from campus. A convenient location but house parties are much better. You don't have to pay or wait in long lines. There is the Night Nole bus system that takes you back home from the clubs and its free for all FSU students. For those not 21 or above, we have the Student life center on campus. Movies are shown all week long at the SLC, starting around 7:00 pm. There is also the local cafes and hookah bars nearby.

Academics: For All Accounting Majors!! The college of Business at Florida State offers many helpful opportunities for accounting students. Classes are fairly average and from time to time, we have guest speakers from Accounting firms who share their experiences and provide helpful tips. The Beta Alpha Psi is an honors accounting/finance society that offers many job and internship opportunities with the Big 4 accounting firms. They are extremely resourceful and will help build your accounting career.

Off-Campus Dining: Off Campus Food – Tennessee street is adjacent to the campus and is full of restaurants.Place to chose from can range from Subways, Donut Kingdom, Mr.Roboto, The Pita Pit and more. There is enough variety of food for anyone to chose from.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: School Life – I love FSU. Its amazing they have tons of activities movies etc. I love the campus life. There is always something to do! :) Football season it gets crazy fun with activities and more!

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Above the Influence – The school provides many people and organizations on campus to get involved with no smoking and drugs and peer pressure. Abortion talks etc. But they keep you informed and aware.

5 College Junior

Weather: Fl, the Sunshine State. This is Florida!! who wouldn't want to spend the best years of their life in the sunshiny rays and warmth of FL? Sure, the summers are hot as hell and there is no beach in Tallahassee, but I rather be in Florida than any other state! the only thing that could affect campus experience if if you choose to walk really far to class on a 100+ degree day... my advice, be careful of heat exhaustion. Drink lots of water and enjoy!

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Drinking and Smoking but Drinking Trumps. I wouldn't say that there is big drug scene at FSU... most college kids stick to drinking heavily and the occasional marijuana use. It all depends on what kind of people your around.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: Great Late Night... OK Lunch. There is a ton of great places in Tallahassee to eat- thats for sure. The dinning at FSU is better than a lot of schools but lacks variety... The Diner is great though! I wouldn't recommend getting a meal plan though because there are so many other great/cheap places to eat nearby.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: I really like the number of routes, how often the buses come around, and the student taxi - anywhere for a flat rate.

My only minus is the off-campus buses; they don't lead to many amenities, but they do lead to enough (i.e., grocery shopping, haircuts).

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Compared to Other Towns, Not So Bad in Price – Virtually everyone lives off-campus after freshman dorm life. It is not difficult to find one, but the nice ones tend to be further away from campus. Thankfully there is a reliable bus system.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Repetitive, Slightly Overpriced, but Convenient. Einstein's, Salad Creations, Chili's, Miso, Papa John's, a smoothie place, Pollo Tropical, Fresh Foods, the Suwannee Room (buffet), More than three Starbucks, one of which is 24 hours/5 days a week

Not very diverse selection, not so kind on the wallet. The 24/5 Starbucks paired with the 24/5 library is a great pairing though. A huge meal plan would be wasteful near the end of the year, but it works well for freshman living on campus.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: FSU is located in the capital of Tallahassee, FL. The areas on campus are relatively safe during the day, but I would be more cautious at night. FSU does have on campus police and emergency towers visible from ever point on campus. Emergency towers allow for students to press a red button which immediate contacts the on campus police department. Off campus however there are a large amount of low income housing mixed in with college houses, which leads to a larger number of house robberies than expected

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: School Life – Very nice and student friendly campus. Has a wide variety of programs and majors. Lots of student organizations and activites. The admissions process is very easy and comprehensable.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Housing is very limited but other options are readily available.

1 College Freshman

Parking: Okay....there are 40,000 students who go to our school. Yet, there are only 4,000 parking spaces available. Even less than that after it hits 12:00 AM. They do not give us much parking spaces, but they have no trouble in giving out parking tickets. This is coming from someone who has never received one. BEWARE!!!!!!

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
