Off-Campus Dining: Good, Lots of Choices – There's alot of fastfood places and restaurants in the Town Center close to the campus. The prices there are affordable and the service is good.

Campus Dining: Good but Not Huge Selection – The Cafeteria is clean and has decent food selection but its always the same items. The service is good your not in line for a long time.

Parking: MY SPOT! Parking at Florida State University is competitive. The amount of parking spots in relation to the students is considerably low. Certain parking garages can not be attempted for days each week, due to over night parking. When you are able to obtain a precious spot, leaving campus becomes difficult for fear that tomorrow you will not be so lucky. The permit cost is already figured into our tuition and is not too expensive. However, fines for delayed meters are very expensive. Some students are forced to park illegally due to the amount of off campus living and in return are fined. The convenience of parking spaces are close to main buildings on campus, which is a great advantage for attending classes on time or in peak times. The need for a vehicle is dependent upon the living situation. Most students whom live off campus, find it necessary to drive to campus, because of the slow bus transportation.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Very Helpful – The Financial Aid people were very helpful to me when I had a few questions, however in the end I did not get any scholarships from the various sources- something I hope to change as soon as possible.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The Police are very strict and undergo a matter in all seriousness. I put my faith in their hands when having to do something about an offense.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: It seems nearly impossible to get the correct funds that are awarded to you.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: DRUG SCENE – The drug scene at my school is very low and kept at a minimum.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: The facilities on scampus are very nice clean and well kept.

1 College Freshman

Scholarships: It's Horrible! I did not receive enough financial aid, and ended up having to apply for multiple loans. Not only is it forcing me to go into debt before graduate school, but it also was a complete hassle to get the money through the school and into my account. I had to harass the financial aid office to finally become competent enough to do their jobs.

Transportation: The bus system is phenomenal. They are general good with being on time, and if not it's usually only by a few minutes, and they'll get you anywhere on campus- and even some off campus places. If the school buses wont get you there, then the city buses probably will. There are many accessible ways to get around here!

Athletics: School Spirit – This year our football team was amazing! They even beat University of Florida (which is our rival school)! Their teamwork really showed on the field, and the fans were never quiet. We had fun representing our hardworking team to give them the confidence to continue doing as well as they began! There was garnet and gold everywhere on game days, and people lost their voices from cheering so loud. The school spirit was unbelievable!

5 College Senior

Scholarships: Complete Your Paperwork EARLY! When you complete your paperwork early, financial aid here at FSU is never a problem!

Weather: Normally Wonderful!!! FSU is located in Sunny Florida, so the weather is normally not a problem! However, this winter the campus got down to a chilly 19 degrees with a windchill factor making it 9 degrees!!!!! Bu the rest of the year is beautiful! Beware it does rain EVERY day in the Summer, but they are usually short and mild sperts.

1 College Senior

Parking: The parking situation at FSU is unrealistic! How do they expect 200 thousand kids to fit in 10,000 spaces? I mean really! Teacher parking doesn't open up until 4:30 and by then the campus is half dead anyways. I spent 45 minutes around 1pm looking for a parking space to go to my class that was only 50 minutes long!! What a joke!

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I Don't Get It – It seems everyone I talk to has a positive outlook on Florida State but I don't get it. The dorms are horrible. Tallahassee most certainly not my favorite place in the world (e.g. non stop sirens, dirty city, not pedestrian friendly, lack of any social existence off the campus). I just don't like it.

1 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: the underclassmen dorms were the absolute worst experience of my freshman year at FSU. Theyre old, and half of the stuff in them doesn't work. No one on the floors get along and the RA's are useless. The walls are ridiculously thin, so you will be going to sleep when your neighbors decide.

1 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Not Safe at All – I do not feel safe on FSU's campus at all. Almost weekly we get emails about robbery and carjacking on campus. Some of these crimes don't even occur late at night. Were supposed to have a state of the art system that will light up when you are in distress. But, those lights are almost always on due to malfunctions.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I review an undergraduate scholarship from FSU just based on my SAT and ACT scores. I loved it. There were no annoying forms to fill out. You qualified based on something you could control: grades.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Apartments Are Unsafe! most apartment complex in tallahasse are very unsafe and are in high crime areas.

1 College Sophomore

Computers: Labs Are Usually for Certain Students. The non-library computer labs at Florida State University are usually for certain students and are difficult to locate. Once you located them, they usually are for certain colleges only. Trying to use the ones in the library is a joke. There are never any open computers.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I recieve Florida Bright Futures, which even though I have 100% does not include exactly 100%; i end up still having to pay about $500 per semester. However, Florida State offered me the freshman university scholorship so the rest is covered by that and I get to put the leftover amount in my pocket. As long as you maintain a high enough GPA and take enough credit hours, financial aid is no problem

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Plenty of Cheap Eats – Not a large selection of upscale to middlescale restuarants for special occassions but plenty of nearby fast, inexpensive eats. There is a good variety of both chain and local restuarants. Some favorites include Panera and Chipotle and a local favorite is Mr. Robotos, a reasonably priced sushi and hibachi resturant.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: My parents mostly handle my financial aid so I don't know much about it. I get a sufficient amount of money to be comfortable in college and meet all my needs.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Greek life is huge at FSU. Most guys and girls are in sororities or fraternities. It is warm here in Florida so most people just shorts and tanks. The going-to-class attire is very casual. A lot of students play IM sports and there are many clubs you can get involved in.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Florida State University is very good with working with each individual student to make their experience here an enjoyable one. Registration is easy and simple. They offer almost any major you can think of and classes provide helpful information and promote learning. Most of the teachers are very helpful and concerned about each students grade.
