Off-Campus Housing: There are a lot of new apartments close to campus but they are extremely expensive. Even though they are expensive, they all stay consistent so students either pay a lot of money to live walking distance to campus (in a nice apartment) or live in an "alright" apartment that requires driving or bus transportation.

Transportation: The bus system to take students to campus is awesome. It goes off campus and it stops at almost every apartment complex that houses students.

4 College Junior

Diversity: Everyone accepts each other and there are a lot of clubs and organizations for different religions, ethnics, etc.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: FSU just enforced a non-smoking campus and that isn't going well right now because it is brand new. But the strictness needs to improve for the smokers to quit smoking on campus.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Dining options are very varied and convenient. Cost is average, and student discounts can be found easily.

4 College Senior

Computers: Almost everything in the computer department is average. We have fast internet and access to easy printing.

5 College Senior

Athletics: School spirit is great, and our athletic teams are all good, if not the best (football). Students are highly involved in all athletics, as fans or participants.

Greek Life: I don't know anything about Greek Life.

Academics: FSU has many study options including study abroad and internships connected with the school for different majors. However, the teaching staff can be hit or miss. Some of my teachers have been very good while others have just been okay. There are many options to choose from as far as which classes interest you, and the overall learning experience is beneficial and fun. The workload and registration, from my experience, has been completely fine with no problems.

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is definitely a great option. There are many different kinds of apartments at different rates and with different amenities, so tenants can choose what's important to them or not so important. Most apartments and complexes are safe and include plenty of parking.

4 College Senior

Nightlife: There are many nightclubs and bars. There is a variety of different ways to have fun. A bus system runs late to ensure student safety.

Local Atmosphere: The local atmosphere of Tallahassee is vibrant with a lot of things to do more in campus than out of it. There is beautiful greenery all over campus.

4 College Student

Campus Housing: I live on Landis Hall, and I know that the other options for Campus Housing are great. The social atmosphere is always positive but make sure to always be on top with payments!

3 College Student

Athletics: I'm not so big on the athletics at my school. But I do know that it requires a lot of student involvement and fan support to get where they want. The school has a lot of Nole Spirit

3 College Student

Scholarships: Receiving financial aid at FSU made me love the school even more. I knew the FAFSA wasn't enough, but when I found out that the school was giving me a grant I was extremely happy.

4 College Student

Parking: Well, I don't drive to campus. Not until 1 more year. But, from what I've heard from many friends, the permit costs, and ticketing and fines policies are strict. There always seems to be extra parking spaces too.

5 College Student

Weather: One of the main reasons why I chose FSU as my number 1 choice was because of the campus climate. There is no better place to study for the next four years of your life than Tallahassee

4 College Student

Campus Dining: From the Suwannee Dining Hall to the menus and variety, I can say from what I've tried that it's all worth trying. The campus has whole bunch of options to use the flex bucks too!!

5 College Student

Computers: There are computers in the library for practically much of the student body. Computers at FSU are always available with the top network connections and internet speed. Sometimes when I need to check out a laptop, I do.

4 College Student

Nightlife: The night life at FSU, well what can I say...it's beautiful. Everyone seems to get along just fine while we have some fun.

5 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: The off-campus dining options near my school are totally worth visiting. All the diverse delicious places you find will leave you open minded. It is 5 star convenience and there variety goes from Japanese to vegetarian diets.

3 College Student

Campus Strictness: Many of campus's policies are strict but in the matter to offer us the safety we need. With over thousands of students in our school, the policies are always followed.

3 College Student

Greek Life: Greek life in campus is not what I had first imagined, to be honest. There is diversity within Greek Life, and most students are nice to talk to.

4 College Student

Diversity: The diversity on campus is like a huge soup of flavors. Everyone is so different in their own ways, making campus ideal.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel safe for the most part

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
