Diversity: There are many different races and religions at Florida State University. My university also has a "multiculutral Greek council" full of multicultural and lintino and latina organizations and a "Black student union"

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Totally Safe – I've never felt unsafe on campus, but that's not to say things don't happen occasionally. But there are emergency posts placed in the sketchier areas of the school to make one feel even safer.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: The libraries at Florida State University are very resourceful and great working environments. There are multiple locations and I am at one at least once a day!

3 College Junior

Parking: It is free but also a hassle. Not enough parking space.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: the drug screen is interesting. They have alcohol sold on campus, I have never being use to it.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: It is mellow and quite. People tend to do their own thing. You go with your own clicks.

5 College Senior

Athletics: Great Sports – Sports at FSU are a pretty big deal. Being a student, you get free tickets to football games, basketball games, and the majority of other sporting events. They are a major part of the ACC, and by attending you get to see it all happen right in front of you and be a part of the Seminole atmosphere.

Off-Campus Dining: Food Desert – People have described Tallahassee as a food desert. There are scattered seafood places, lots of Mexican, and some Creole chains. That's about it for variety. Of course there are plenty of fast food chains. These places are all affordable and a good time, but if you are looking for variation of cultural food choices, Tallahassee is not the place to go.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: I feel mostly safe on campus. I have to walk to my car after class at night and never feel uneasy or have a problem. There is a strong Campus PD presence and the blue lights everywhere.

Weather: One day the temperature can be in the 80's and the next day it could be in the 40's or 50's. There are some times of the year when it rains a lot and the summers can be very hot and humid. But it doesn't know and there aren't many natural disasters that you have to worry about, only occasional tornado warnings.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Going Greek – Two of my roommates are in a sorority and they love it. It keeps you busy and there are always events to go to and a sense of connection with your sisters or brothers.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Seminole Spirit – Going to athletic events gives you such a sense of pride in your school. Games bring hundreds of students together and you feel connected to everyone around you. My favorite part of FSU are those moments during a home football game when the entire stadium is singing the war chant and doing the tomahawk chop. It's amazing.

3 College Freshman

Weather: USE YOUR UMBRELLA – The weather at Florida State is so bipolar. You could wake up and have to wear a parka for morning classes, have your umbrella for the downpour that comes out of no where, and then have to wear shorts and a tank top after because its humid and hot! The weather can be amazing, but it can switch in the blink of an eye.

Athletics: History Forever! If you love sports, you need to come to FSU! They have so much school spirtit. Go Seminoles. Everyone at FSU holds lots of pride in the basketball, football, soccer, and lacrosse teams.

Facilities: Something New Everyday – The facilities are awesome like the gym and student center. You can meet all kinds of people there.

4 College Junior

Computers: FSU has a lot of flat-screened monitors in the different libraries on campus. they all work well and are secured.

3 College Junior

Facilities: Many of the organizations on campus really help with one another's philanthropies which helps bring the whole FSU community together.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: When I first stepped onto the campus I knew I had found my home. Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating which really helped me to adjust being away from my family. I have met some great people through my time here with some awesome memories that I will never forget. My college experience at Florida State University has certainly been the best; I absolutely love it here and would certainly choose to go here again if I were to do it all over!

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: More Students Drink Than Drugs – In my opinion, college students at Florida State University definitely drink more than anyone would do drugs. In my time at FSU I have never been peer pressured into doing something that I was not okay with and that for me is very important. Depending on who you are friends with, you may run into some people who do do drugs here and there but it is not a big issue.

5 College Sophomore

Transportation: There's tons of transportation around campus and on. We have our own bus system that stays on campus and then our own that goes around it as well.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Hit or Miss – Places are chill with ID's but some places out in Tallahassee are grimy.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Extremely Social – Greek life is a huge part of campus social life. It's obvious that they are very prominent on campus. Both girls and girls are EXTREMELY good looking.

1 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: the drug scene at fsu is huge mostly in part of its location in the poorest part of town and therefore in the middle of most drug business.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: fsu has an amazing athletic program and an amzing support of athletics.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
