Parking: Parking is available if you are willing to come to campus early. If you want to be one of those people whol rolls out of bed late and then try to find a spot its not happening. And the "I couldn't find parking" excuse doesn't work for professors. Trying to find a spot between 10am and 2pm is difficult, so plan to drive around until you find something.

Campus Housing: It's a Great Day to Be a 'Nole! Everyone here is really friendly, and the weather is sunny and warm on average! There are so many different places to eat that are within walking distance from campus, as well as grocery stores. There are campus busses as well as city busses that are extremely convenient and easy to learn how to use. Even with being placed on a wait list for on-campus housing, the process was relatively stress-free.The older dorms aren't great, but they're convenient and a great way to meet people! The Leach Gym is huge, with lots of machines & weights, a pool, a sauna, a hot tub, an indoor track, etc. There aren't even that many undergrad classes that are huge. Generally, the undergrad classes range from 30-150 students. Florida State has a beautiful Green campus that is kept spotless. Go 'Noles!

Facilities: Not bad, most are pretty clean and what not. The Leach is usually crowded, but you just have to go during off hours. The library is amazing! If you want to study with a group or study very quietly by yourself, you can.

Overall Experience: The one reason why I enjoy the campus of Florida State University is the over all experience. Being there you get the best of both worlds of the education and social life.

Campus Strictness: Florida State is very understanding and realizes when there is a time be strict and when it is ok to loosen up on the policies. They let it be your decision to make bad choices and deal with the consequences, becuase you have to learn from your experiences somehow.

Computers: I haven't really used the FSU computers, but the wireless for the most part works when I need it for laptop, or cellphone.

Campus Strictness: Dorm Requirements – One thing I dislike about living in the dorms are the level of strictness they hold. Before every break we are required to clean our room which means taking out the trash, cleaning the floor, no fire violations, unplugging all appliances, etc. Very annoying.

Off-Campus Housing: While I have never lived off campus myself I have heard a lot from the people that do. There are many off-campus housing available you just have to get in early and by early I mean signing your lease at the beginning of the semester before the actual semester you are applying for. So if you're looking for housing for the fall apply at the beginning of the preceding spring semester and vice versa.

Academics: Registration Process – The registration process at Florida State University is relatively easy. The program and website is very user friendly and registering for your classes takes less than five minutes. It's getting into the classes you want and need that is the problem. 99% of the time the classes you need to take for your major are either full or not offered at a time you can take it. I had a lot of trouble getting the classes I wanted simply because most of them were full. One example, I am an international affairs major right now and I am required to take a language up to the third level and when I went to register for this class the language I picked to take was completely full at the level I needed, not one spot open anytime during the week. This happens a lot to students. My advice is to be completely ready on registration day. Wake up early and be on the computer right when the window opens and have your course numbers written down so that they can easily be typed in. While this isn't going to guarantee your spot in the classes you want it will give you a better chance.

Guys & Girls: Stds Are on the Rise! Yes there are plenty of attractive people there, but you will be smart to stay safe and not take your chances.

Diversity: Very Diverse – There is plenty of ethnic/racial diversity. Also, many different people from different economic background, political beliefs, religion, and/or sexual orientation.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: I have seen plenty of variety. With an open mind, you can become friends with anybody. Although there are people that may express themselves at unexpected times, it is not something that only happens at FSU

Computers: There's plenty of computers available to students and even non-students at the libraries. They're fast most of the time. Because there are so many students, it's convenient to own a personal computer when going inside a library. Definitely own a personal computer for use outside of class.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: FSU is very helpful with Financial Aid and user friendly.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Size and Involvement – It is a good school academically, but there is not much career guidance/planning within some Departments. It is hard to meet people if you do not live on campus and if not in a sorority. I would not likely choose this school again but it is a good school.

3 College Junior

Transportation: Buses are good if you live in a student housing complex. Have to drive to get to class on time if you do not. Parking is terrible when there is a special event and the school does not seem concerned about students finding parking over event participants. Have to get to school 1-2 hours early to get parking. Parking is a stalk someone till they move event.

Health & Safety: Personal Safety – Concerns about non-students coming on campus and robbery while walking to car late in day or at night. Some locations are conducive to crime with deserted walkways, parking away from buildings and a lack on security at night when classes get out.

Overall Experience: Love It – I'm extremely happy at Florida State. As soon as I came to this campus, I fell in love. The social scene can be a tad overwhelming if you let it be but if you can find a good balance, Florida State can be wonderful.

3 College Junior

Academics: Good Major but Needs to Be Paired With Something – I like this major but it doesn't have enough credits on its own to get you to the graduation requirement so I paired my major with a double in Geography and a Certificate in Urban and Regional Planning.

4 College Junior

Computers: Busy but You Can Find One Somewhere – Computers are a hot item during the fall and spring semesters. Most students tend to go to the library (Strozier or Dirac mostly) but there are other places to find a computer to use. The union has a computer lab that is available during the week and I've never had a problem finding one. Printing can be done almost anywhere but you have to pay for it so having a personal printer at home might be a good idea.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Typical Florida Heat – Does not rain a lot, and it has that typical Florida heat on any given sunny day.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Inter-Mural Soccer – I played soccer with a team of friends this semester, it was a lot of fun. The fields were excellent and the referees were good to.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorms are great quality. I am living in in a clean hall but very poor location. It is on the edge of campus and there is a poor neighborhood behind me that can be dangerous at night. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly.

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Urban, full of hills, brick buildings, old buildings, like maryland.

2 College Junior

Transportation: Florida State University offers free transportation using busses that have selected routes near and around campus for people living off campus which sounds convinient hoewever due to the over population the busses are either packed or usually running very late. not very reliable

There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee.
