Guys & Girls: There Are Pretty Good Looking People – There are pretty good looking people,
depending on your taste,
if you like blonde hair, blue eyes, then you're good

Transportation: Free Buss Shuttles at a Ton of Locations – The bus drivers are very friendly and the ride is free. There are a ton of locations to be picked up and dropped off. Very convenient service.

Majors: It's one of the more relaxed audition processes I've had. Not that I was relaxed. But generally everyone is very easy going. They don't stress you out at all. You and your audition group warm up with a couple BFAs. And then you're divided into rooms where one of the BFA professors will watch you do your two pieces. And then he or she may give you a direction or two. And then the call back sheet goes up which will have 20 or so names on it. If you're called back, you get to do your pieces for all the teachers and the BFA students. And then they'll ask you a couple questions. And send you on your way.

Majors: I love my program. I can't speak for the BA program. But the BFA program is tight! Check it out if you want to pursue Acting.

Athletics: F*****' Incrdible – I mean, come on now... It's Florida State University! Go Noles!!!!

Majors: BFA Acting – I'm very lucky. I've had the best teachers. They've absolutely changed my life. I mean, anybody pursuing Acting in an institution of higher learning is bound to have life changing experiences in their classes. But, mine have been so positive. I've learned about the deepest parts of myself due to my training. And I've only been in school two years. If you come to Florida State for BFA Acting, you'll receive the most individualized guidance. And I do mean guidance. It's a journey. You'll experience the belly of the whale while you're here. But, you'll have the best help along the way.

Scholarships: Not Too Shabby – There are definitely an abundance of scholarships, but you have to dig for it. Since it is a pretty large university, going to the financial aid office may be a little bit of a hassle because of the wait time.

Campus Housing: It Was the Best of Times, It Was the Special of Times – It's definitely something that everyone should at least try once and if you find that you like it then keep going because it is extremely convenient being on campus. Personally, I wanted to have pets so of course I could not continue living in the dorms.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Not Bad for Being Near Urban Areas – there have been a few robberies but they are taken care of quickly. i usually feel pretty safe

Campus Dining: Same Thing Over and Over – somewhat bland food at a ridiculous price every semester

Off-Campus Housing: Not Bad for on Campus – compared 2 other universities fsu has decent housing

4 College Senior

Transportation: Pretty Good – I have not had a car all 4 years here, I have even lived on campus, and have never had a serious problem with the public transportation

Health & Safety: Not Very Good – You usually get weekly "FSU Crime Emails" about campus crime

Greek Life: It's All Greek to Me – The Greek life dominates at Florida State with beautiful sorority and fraternity houses. Greek parties are exceedingly frequent and walls around campus are painted with decorative Greek life updates and information. It's not a big deal if you don't join and your college experience will be just as enjoyable, however if you like the lifestyle, FSU's got a good opportunity for you.

Campus Dining: Delicious and Something for Everyone – There are two major campus dining halls that are similar but differ in menu choices every day and change three times a day-- the Suwannee Room and Fresh Foods. These buffet dining halls have hot meals and convenient grabs for everyone, including vegetarian alternatives and meat lovers' delight. The food is very student friendly, varying from comfort foods to the ever healthy salad choices. Students pay on entry either with their FSU cards and corresponding meal plans, or with cash options as well. Once a student is admitted they may stay all day, however if they leave, they must pay for reentry. The food tastes like a good home cooked meal and you won't regret it after a long day of classes! If you prefer other dining options, there are also various restaurants on campus such as Chili's, Starbucks, etc.

Overall Experience: Now Do "The Chop" – Florida State is pretty amazing. The buildings are gorgeous, and the students are willing to help anyone at the drop of a hat. There's the smell of competition in the air with serious, passionate students but you never fail to hear the sounds of rocking fountain water after a night of letting off some steam. The insightful professors and the relationships you can build with them are priceless, not to mention the opportunities for undergraduate research are endless. Before I came here, I didn't realize just how appreciative I'd be that I turned down all the rest. Go 'Noles!

Transportation: Buses, Buses, Buses Galore! The transportation is pretty good considering the campus is fairly compact and centralized. There is a bus service especially for FSU students called Seminole Express that takes the students around apartment complexes and off-campus housing-- free of charge. There is also another bus system called the Night Nole that allows for students to get picked up and dropped off on campus only at late hours of the night to ensure safety (it usually stops running at around 2AM). The StarMetro is another good example of a bus system that not only runs on campus, but all over Tallahassee as well. These systems are all in addition to the specific engineering buses taking students to specialized institutions of research. Again, all of these buses are free of charge to all students with their FSU cards.

Campus Housing: The Perfect College Experience – The dorms are a lovely size with beautiful views, and plenty of resources. They have a full kitchen on every floor and allow you to bring in your own microwaves in your rooms. RAs are very welcoming and get creative with hallway wallspace every month. The FSU dorms allow for an awesome college experience before moving out to any apartments or off-campus housing. With 24/7 air conditioning and a pretty good size closet space, what more could you ask for?

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The Perfect Discipline – There is definitely strictness here t FSU but it doesn't impede on my ability to have the right kind of fun!

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: A Beautiful City of Life – Here there are so many beautiful places, even a simple walk around campus is beautiful. The activities are always fun and there is always something to do.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Went Very Well for Me – This process was smooth and considerate and I appreciate all that I received

Campus Dining: Pretty Decent but Some Days Disappointing – The dining hall Suwannee has really good options most days, but there are some days where I am disappointed by what I see.

Athletics: They have loads of sports and work out programs, as well as martial arts classes. Also a great workout facility, equipped with all the latest equipment.

3 College Senior

Computers: Decent Labs, but Not Much Support. Computer labs are abundant. Some even have mac computers for the design and art students which are also equipped with Photoshop and various other art programs. However, the support and help in these labs is not fantastic.

3 College Senior

Parking: While the parking permit is free at FSU, parking is not a pleasant experience. I would advise arriving 10-20 minutes early on campus to look for parking.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
