Transportation: THe FSU buses are AWESOME, plus if you have a smart phone, the Transloc app is fantastic because it tells you exactly where the bus is and how long it will be until it gets to each of its stops. However, I wish there were a few more buses, especially towards the Engineering campus, and some of the times aren't plotted out very well, as I can't seem to catch a bus by westcott when I get out of my class at 11, and instead have to practically run across campus to get to my Calculus class. >.<

Weather: It's still Florida, lol. The weather is still monstrously hot in the beginning of the fall semester, and there are gnats. But come Early November, the weather cools a lot, and sweater weather starts! It hasn't been above 68 the last week, and I think it's glorious. The campus is easy to manage, most of your classes being within a 15 minute walk unless you need to head to the teaching school, law school, ans Psych building, which are on the very edges of campus. Not a terrible amount of rain, and mostly sunny!

Transportation: Buses will get you around wherever you need to go, though they could extend it into further around town.

Facilities: Awesome. Beautiful and always kept in great condition.

Drug Safety: The drug scene at school is quite big. Florida is viewed as one of the top party schools in the nation and it keeps that record by having such social scenes. Alcohol being the most popular at tailgates, pregames, bars, happy hours, and the clubs. Ecstacy being the second most popular since many house and trance artists play here, in which many people partake in 'rolling' during such concerts. Marijuana is the social drug that many students use to hang around with friends and relax after parties, social gathering, etc. Adderall is very ppular with students who procrastinate and take this medication to stay up all night in order to complete assignments and study. Peer pressure is common, it's basically up to you on how you choose to live your life with the people you meet.

Greek Life: There are several positive as well as several negative aspects of Greek Life here at FSU. Positive aspects being that of the family like bonds students get to share with one another, especially in a place that for most is far away from home and family. It establishes connections amongst several hundreds other students which is great for the business world. For example, my roomate got an internship to Kleinfeld's in New York over the summer because one of her sisters knew someone condusting interviews for that internship. Greek life here is looked upon as higher ranked and relatively fun in the social aspect. Though drama and several aspects of greek life tend to be frowned upon here, such as the run down houses fraternities tend to reside in, as well as the snooty aspect of many sororities who believe their rank is high amongst other sororities as well as those who are not in greek life which is frowned upon; overall the all agreed upon answer is that they love it. The bonding, the parties, the philanthropy, the connections they make; all deemed the highest and best quality you can recieve then any other university around. Many non greeks don't believe in such ties thus there is somewhat of a divide amongst the two catagories, but nothing to serious. My overall opinion; its great opportunity. One I wish I could afford given these hard economic times for my family.

Diversity: FSU is made up of a very diverse population of students. There are several minorites, whether religious, race/ethnicity, political affiliation, etc. Many students are accepting and all seem to get along fine. Capus clubs, organizations, and groups are very welcoming and accepting to everyone.

Campus Housing: I like my dorm even though people don't like community style ones. I enjoy it and its affordable.

Transportation: I have always walked to class but from what I hear the bus system is great

Academics: The academics here are great! There a lot of classes to choose from and there are many places to study and get help for certain classes.

3 College Freshman

Weather: There is all kinds of weather. It pours during the summer terms and is super hot in august/september, but in october the weather starts feeling great!

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: It's good food but not awesome. Fresh Foods is a lot better than Suwanee for dining halls, and then the places in the union are better.

Majors: Internships are great opportunities to gain experience in your major. For physics, they are in the summer and are all expenses paid, with an additional stipend.

5 College Freshman

Majors: The program for my major is difficult, but I know I'm getting some of the best eduction for my major in the country.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I have loved Florida State since I have arrived, the people are all nice and the professors are all knowledgeable and inviting.

5 College Junior

Majors: My major can be entered by anyone wishing to enter. It is highly suggested that you are a fun science loving individual however.

5 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The people at FSU can't be described in a few words. The variety of people at FSU is endless. Many of the attractive in both looks an personality. They dress in every fashion think able.

5 College Junior

Majors: My major Environmental science is excellent It is however relatively new. The courses are all both very interesting, and incredibly relevant. Most of the courses specific to my major are in the meteorology building.

3 College Junior

Majors: I haven't had an internship yet, but I know there are plenty of opportunities for them. I plan to find one. Most of them from what i see are unpaid (at least in my field of study); however, they can often be worth from 3-6 credit hours, and will be excellent opportunities for experience in your field.

4 College Junior

Majors: I am happy with the environmental science program at Florida State University. There are some very goo advisors and the course curriculum is excellent. The professors in my field have provided me with lots of opportunities to get some experience in my field of study.

Nightlife: There are always parties, and everyone is usually invited to everything. There are plenty of clubs, with drink specials every night. Occasional people will be buyer for fake-IDs and underage drinking at clubs, but for the most part, this goes unnoticed. There are also measures in place - such as the Night Nole or the Nole Cab to make sure students don't drink and drive, and arrive home safely.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I am currently a junior and have never lived on campus, instead opting to live in a townhouse with some friends. If you want to live off campus, there really is something for everyone. You can apartments, townhouses or houses ranging from the cheap basics to the luxurious with all of the amenities, all quite close to campus or by an FSU off campus bus route.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: Being in a greek organization is highly recommended. Not everyone is greek, but sometimes it tends to feel like everyone is greek. You don't have to be a specific kind of person to be in one either. For girls there are 16 sororities, and trust me when I say that there is a place for everyone! You can be as involved as you want, and vise versa! You are not looked down on if you are not in one, but when meeting people, most ask what sorority/fraternity you are in

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: For those who drink, FSU has a pretty insane nightlife. Every night there is a different bar or club to go to...Thursdays- pots, Fridays- Baja's and Lit, Saturday- Coliseum, etc...Basically everywhere is 18+ and 21+ if you want to drink. They are not very strict on id's which makes it even better. There is always a place to drink, and always people willing to drink! FSU isn't said to be a drinking town with a football problem for no reason!

For those who don't drink, there still is always things to do. You can go bowling, go to free movies, go to the mall, basically anything!

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Exspensive. College town usual problems with younger students moving away from home and not used to having roommates. Traffic is a problem and we have crazy drivers from all over.

You would be hard-pressed to find a graduate of Florida State University who doesn’t have fond memories of the years they spent on campus. Current students will also agree that they are happy with their decision to attend school here. There is something for everyone, from athletics to academia, and you would have a hard time finding a more comfortable setting than Tallahassee. It has so much to offer, from exciting nightlife to beautiful weather.

Although it bears the reputation of a party school, FSU also has a growing reputation for turning out some of the best and brightest graduates in the entire nation. The school is now turning its focus on research, which should appeal to those interested in science and mathematics. But never fear, FSU also emphasizes the arts through their award-winning film and theater departments. From math and science, to the arts, FSU offers a vast array of eclectic degrees, which will be nothing but helpful later in your life. Choosing which college to attend is not an easy decision, but if you’re looking for the perfect combination of a good education and a good time, you can’t do much better than Florida State University.
