5 College Freshman

Facilities: Student life on campus is phenomenal. There's always a bunch of kids around campus, and everyone is super friendly. We all have school spirit and the desire to learn, making the university a great place to attend.

Off-Campus Housing: floors collapse every once in a while. it keeps things exciting

Transportation: the bus system is good it goes lots of places off-campus. not very punctual so it's not good to depend on it to get to class

5 College Freshman

Computers: everthing here is amazing, nothing to complain about

2 College Junior

Diversity: Tallahassee is practically georgia when it comes to population diversity. fsu is white and christian for the most part. They tolerate other nationalities better than other religions, but dont expect a thriving community for any minority groups on campus beyond christain groups and greek life.

Weather: Fog and cold one day followed by sweltering heat the next makes walking to and on campus a daily challenge. Invest in sneakers and boots.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: the public transportation here at Florida State is extremely useful. A bus comes around every 10 minutes running either way. There are various pick up locations. Although it stops at 7 and starts again at 10 within that time you can call a number and they will pick you up.

Majors: I love animation and digital media. The software programs I use to complete classwork is thoroughly enjoyable. I plan on attaining a career in California after I graduate.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: As a student animator, I plan on gaining an internship with film VFX companies while in school. Learning real life skills within an actual workplace will provide me with the competitive edge needed to excel in my career.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Gaining acceptance into the Animation program was not very intense, they didnt require a portfolio or any analysis of previous creative work. The most challenging part about the process is getting accepted into the actual Office Of Admissions. The program application process was pretty streamlined and organized.

2 College Senior

Transportation: The public transportation in Tallahassee use to be very convenient, but with new budget cuts and routing, it has become very difficult and time consuming to get around town. The campus transportation however is free and very convenient, but they do not operate during weekends or breaks.

Off-Campus Housing: The off-campus student housing in Tallahassee is pretty expensive. Most students like myself who don't have parental financial support have to mantain a job in order to finance off-campus living expenses. On campus living is just as expensive so there really isn't a way around the struggle.

Majors: I don't feel it will be easy for me to get a job with a Religion and Chinese degree, considering the majority of what I want to do focuses on Tibet. However, considering that's what I love, I would do it over again in an instant.

4 College Junior

Majors: I didn't need a specific application for this major. Easy to get into, and it's a small major, therefore it's easy to feel part of the community.

5 College Junior

Majors: The work is meaningful, all the classes correlate with each other and build on top of themselves. It is required in the retail merchandising and product development that we do a internship my final semester, and they all encourage to do a summer internship as well. They have speakers from the field come in, and are alway informing us about opportunities we can do to enhance our resume.

5 College Junior

Majors: The process was easy and I didn't have any problems. The academic advisor is easy to talk to and knows what she is doing.

5 College Junior

Majors: I love my program, it is rewarding and all the teachers and staff are there to help you prepare for your career and they believe in real world experience and push you explore opportunities and internships.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: there is the convenience of the night nole, and the several bus routes that come every 10 minutes, Also the safe bus for late nights

4 College Freshman

Transportation: THe FSU buses are AWESOME, plus if you have a smart phone, the Transloc app is fantastic because it tells you exactly where the bus is and how long it will be until it gets to each of its stops. However, I wish there were a few more buses, especially towards the Engineering campus, and some of the times aren't plotted out very well, as I can't seem to catch a bus by westcott when I get out of my class at 11, and instead have to practically run across campus to get to my Calculus class. >.<

3 College Freshman

Weather: It's still Florida, lol. The weather is still monstrously hot in the beginning of the fall semester, and there are gnats. But come Early November, the weather cools a lot, and sweater weather starts! It hasn't been above 68 the last week, and I think it's glorious. The campus is easy to manage, most of your classes being within a 15 minute walk unless you need to head to the teaching school, law school, ans Psych building, which are on the very edges of campus. Not a terrible amount of rain, and mostly sunny!

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Buses will get you around wherever you need to go, though they could extend it into further around town.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: Awesome. Beautiful and always kept in great condition.

Drug Safety: The drug scene at school is quite big. Florida is viewed as one of the top party schools in the nation and it keeps that record by having such social scenes. Alcohol being the most popular at tailgates, pregames, bars, happy hours, and the clubs. Ecstacy being the second most popular since many house and trance artists play here, in which many people partake in 'rolling' during such concerts. Marijuana is the social drug that many students use to hang around with friends and relax after parties, social gathering, etc. Adderall is very ppular with students who procrastinate and take this medication to stay up all night in order to complete assignments and study. Peer pressure is common, it's basically up to you on how you choose to live your life with the people you meet.

Greek Life: There are several positive as well as several negative aspects of Greek Life here at FSU. Positive aspects being that of the family like bonds students get to share with one another, especially in a place that for most is far away from home and family. It establishes connections amongst several hundreds other students which is great for the business world. For example, my roomate got an internship to Kleinfeld's in New York over the summer because one of her sisters knew someone condusting interviews for that internship. Greek life here is looked upon as higher ranked and relatively fun in the social aspect. Though drama and several aspects of greek life tend to be frowned upon here, such as the run down houses fraternities tend to reside in, as well as the snooty aspect of many sororities who believe their rank is high amongst other sororities as well as those who are not in greek life which is frowned upon; overall the all agreed upon answer is that they love it. The bonding, the parties, the philanthropy, the connections they make; all deemed the highest and best quality you can recieve then any other university around. Many non greeks don't believe in such ties thus there is somewhat of a divide amongst the two catagories, but nothing to serious. My overall opinion; its great opportunity. One I wish I could afford given these hard economic times for my family.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: FSU is made up of a very diverse population of students. There are several minorites, whether religious, race/ethnicity, political affiliation, etc. Many students are accepting and all seem to get along fine. Capus clubs, organizations, and groups are very welcoming and accepting to everyone.
