2 College Junior

Parking: Sometimes its hard to find a spot, parking lots are not spacious and seem like a maze to get through. Learn to parallel park.

2 College Freshman

Parking: Lack of parking, and spots are usually pretty far away.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking on campus is awful! There are never any open spots. Most students completely disregard others and park so horrible no one can get in. Many times, students take up two parking spots. They park where they are not supposed to and it's just now that campus security has actually cared enough to give them their very well deserved fines!

4 College Junior

Parking: Parking on campus is not bad. The campus is pretty small, compared to big universities, so you walk everywhere. The parking is basically around the perimeter of the campus and it is almost exclusively a residential college. Once you have your parking spot, there is no need to move your car unless you leave campus to go shopping or something else. Sometimes you may not need to move your car for days. The cost for having your car on campus is about $125 a year.

Parking is a sore subject at Florida Southern. Obtaining a parking permit is relatively simple, and the cost is reasonable. However, the ability to find a parking spot on campus is extremely difficult during school hours. Students will have to resort to parking in a distant lot because empty parking spaces are so hard to come by. In addition, parking lots have been eliminated due to new buildings. Therefore, there is a shortage of spaces, and the problem is only getting worse.

Tickets are given frequently, especially for failure to register a vehicle parked in school parking lots. This is the school's way of making sure everyone is paying for a parking permit if he or she wants to park a car on campus. Guests are commonly given tickets for failing to register a vehicle, as well, but a quick visit to the safety office will clear any fines procured.
