1 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Besides college owned apartments where students still have to follow the policies of no visitation and alcohol (even though most students living in these apartments are over 21), the college does not allow students to live off campus at all. Students must be over 23 years old to live off campus, and by that age most students have already graduated.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There aren't very many options and its difficult to be eligible for off campus housing.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: We can't live off campus

1 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: We aren't allowed to live off campus (besides school owned apartments) until you are 23.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: The off campus life is good, people haven't really complained about it, but I honestly recommend on campus living. Its closer and everyone is on campus!

There are strict rules to live off campus, so most students live on campus until at least their junior year. Even then, strict rules apply to move away, such as a high GPA, married status, at least 24 years old, or within a certain radius of campus. Several options are available off campus, but students need to keep their eyes open for good deals. The best area to get an apartment or rent a house is close to campus. This may be obvious for time reasons, but the area around campus is much nicer than some other areas around Lakeland.

For some students, it is worth living off campus because there are no RAs and a meal plan is not necessary. Plus, this is a chance to experience complete freedom before graduation. However, campus has free laundry (where off-campus housing doesn't), and students do not have to fight for a parking spot every day when they go to class if they already live on campus.
