4 College Sophomore

Parking: There's a shuttle that goes around campus that's right next to my room.

2 College Junior

Parking: No parking unless you're an Art or Music major; plan at least 10-15 minutes for finding parking and walking to class AFTER arriving on campus.

Parking: Parking decals are free but if youre commuting in the morning to campus, the garages fill up quick so you need to get here early. Theres a lot of parking around the dorms but if you live on campus, you cant move your car to the main campus until after 5pm. During basketball games, North Lake Village parking is impossible.

Parking: Permit is free, but even with multiple parking structures, it can be difficult to find a decent spot. Hang your decal or they will nail you for a $30 fine. Dorm students are probably fine without a car, but a must for commuters.

4 College Freshman

Parking: Get there early, and find a spot.

Parking is difficult on the FGCU campus. The parking seems to get worse every year. If you live on campus, you are not allowed to park on campus (away from the dorms) until after 5. If you live off campus, you can park in one of three parking garages and some lots, but they tend to be crowded. There are always long lines in and out of the parking garages. Oftentimes, students will drive all the way to the top of a parking garage, find there is no parking, and have to drive all the way back down again.

If you know what time to park, then you will be OK. Also, if you come to school about 30 minutes before your class starts, then you should be able to find a parking spot. However, the parking is very difficult if you don't know good parking areas and times to show up. But once you start school, it will be easier to figure out a schedule.
