4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Temple Terrace is small but it's a lot of fun. There are lots of restaurants to go hang out at and multiple big cities that aren't too far away either. Going to Downtown Tampa is really cool and theme parks like Disney World and Universal Studios are only an hour away! Be sure to check out Boing! and All About Puppies at some point - really fun for date spots and group hang outs.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: The Florida Life – Living in florida has great opportunities being 45 minutes away from the beaches, 1 hour away from disney, and 2 minutes down the road is Busch Gardens!!

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Temple Terrace is a good spot to be. Theme parks, beaches, zoos, pools, and anything else near by that is imaginable. There is also tons of restaurants around to grab a bite to eat.

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Small Town, Lots to Do. Temple Terrace is a section of Tampa, so the college is not in a crowded area but you aren't too far away from all the things Tampa offers. Busch Gardens is maybe ten minutes down the street, and the beach is also within driving distance. All of the people in the town seem to really like FC students, and they even like it when we trick or treat the neighborhood on halloween. There are pockets of sketchy neighborhoods very close to FC, and that causes problems with theft sometimes. There are several good malls in the area, and plenty of good sports teams like the Rays, Bucs, and Lightning. My favorite place to go with friends is probably Boing Jump Center.

The immediate neighborhood surroundings of the College are peaceful, but just a couple of blocks away, there are many restaurants, grocery and convenience stores, pawn shops, and a plethora of fast-paced drivers, all waiting for the traffic lights to change to green. Temple Terrace is home to Busch Gardens, as well as the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI). The University of South Florida is just a few miles down the road, and Anna Maria Island, a beach on the East Coast, is only about an hour drive from the FC campus.

Florida College is set in the midst of a golf course and in a quiet middle-to-upper-class neighborhood in the town of Temple Terrace, just a half-hour away from the busy city of Tampa. Driving in Temple Terrace can be an anxious experience if one is not used to multi-lanes of rush-hour traffic. Students who wish to get off campus on a Saturday often drive the hour distance to Orlando for the thrills of Disney World or Downtown Disney. Others might choose to spend the day at one of the beaches on the East Coast. Those who wish to stay closer to the College can find a large variety of restaurants and neighborhood parks. Students are encouraged to become members of a local congregation of Christians during their enrollment at FC, and they can choose from at least 60 churches of Christ in the area.
