5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The administration at Florida College is very proactive in providing the best college experience possible. Drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited. Dorms are monitored at all times and curfew is at 11 pm on week nights, midnight on weekends. While it may seem like they go to great lengths, and yes, curfew is annoying at times, I would honestly not want it any other way. The school provides a safe, fun, and wholesome environment for students to learn and experience college life.

Campus Strictness: Hard to Be Consistent – As in most areas of life it can be hard to be consistent in carrying out rule code. The administrations tries very hard, but a lot of areas end up a little lax, especially the dress code.

College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Florida College is very strict compared to most colleges. Freshman and Sophomores/anyone under the age of 21 have a curfew, and no drinking is permitted on or off campus. The dress code is very strict too; shorts and/or pants with holes in them cannot be worn to class or Chapel, and all shorts must touch the top of the knee. Girl's shirts cannot be too low or sleeveless, either. And, women cannot go to classes or Chapel with their hair fully wet and down. Each student is also only allowed a specific number of absences in each class as well.

Being a Christian university, Florida College can be pretty strict in certain ways. Like many other institutions, it regards academic integrity with the utmost importance, frowning upon cheating and plagiarism. However, in other ways, it's a little different from other colleges and universities.

For one thing, sexual relationships outside of marriage are not tolerated (including homosexuality). There are also restrictions involving basic guy/girl interactions. If students want to visit the residence hall lobbies of the opposite sex, they can only visit at certain times; outside of lobbies, students are not allowed to enter a residence hall of the opposite sex. Also, if students want to meet up with someone of the opposite sex in a private place, they must get permission. Along with relationship restrictions, drugs and alcohol are also prohibited. Dissimilar to other campuses, students are not permitted to drink alcohol at all.
