3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: - I got a free smoothies once at a Smoothie in front of campus. So, I guess, that something, Huh?

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: -The animals here, and I say animals because they act like animals, legit animals. But, hey, they work hard why not play hard.

1 College Freshman

Scholarships: -It's so bad. This school doesn't communicate at all.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: -A LOT OF JUNK FOOD

3 College Freshman

Facilities: -It's very HOT one minute, then the next its so COLD. Florida is so Bipolar. :/

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Not the prime pick of the school. Many guys are very full of themselves and dull, but there are a few diamonds in the rough that are smart and sincere.

5 College Junior

Diversity: FAU is extremely diverse, there are students from all different places and backgrounds.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Boca Raton is a diverse neighborhood with many different restaurants of all cuisines. Foodies will love this town.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: The classes are fairly small and professors have a more personal connection with the students. The professors are always available to help and very supportive.

Overall Experience: For my specific major, you have to push your own career and pay your own dues to make it in the music industry. However, FAU has a pretty great music program that helps you network and build your skills to get yourself out in the field.

Health & Safety: We have a health center upstairs with a pharmacy that is pretty convenient and affordable. Mental Health services are also provided, and helpful!

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Boca Raton is expensive. It is a great place to go shopping, grab a drink and some food, and head down to the beach. FAU is in a very suburban area, nothing too special.

4 College Junior

Campus Dining: One word: Starbucks. The food court has a lot of different options, but dining is basically nonexistent in the summer which makes evening classes after work difficult.

4 College Junior

Majors: The application process was very easy for my program. However, Florida Atlantic University did not realize I received my undergraduate from them and I had issues regarding my undergrad transcript. It took a few phone calls for them to figure out they already had my information on file.

4 College Junior

Majors: I love this program. It is not most thorough as far as instruction on the music industry goes, but gives you a solid foundation of the basic concepts of the industry to help you get your foot in the door.

3 College Junior

Athletics: Tailgates are always fun, we finally have a stadium so people are more interested in sports now. The new fitness facility is awesome and even has a pool with lounge chairs to lay out in the sun between classes!

College Junior

Campus Housing: I never lived on campus, but I know people who have.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: There's nothing more to say other than it's Boca Raton. Drinks are overpriced but there are tons of places to choose from.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: The local atmosphere is professional and friendly. There is a shopping mall, grocery, and many other places to go to near the University.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I live far from campus.

College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I do not live in college housing

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: The dining halls have fresh salads and wraps. We can also purchase fruit bowls and snacks made out of oats.

3 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: There are many different kinds of restuarants around the school, different pricing areas. There are a few places that do student discounts, but not very many.

For most students, FAU was not their first-choice school. While it is a large school, most students are commuters, and it seems as though almost anyone can be accepted. However, once students arrive on campus, they realize that there are many activities and events to get involved with and that maybe their experience will not be so bad after all.

FAU is an up-and-coming school and is growing in students and facilities every year. However, most students do not plan to attend for their entire college career. Many are just using FAU to get their feet on the ground and to get general education classes out of the way. A huge percent of the student population transfers after two years to a larger, more college-town type of school.
