College Sophomore

Greek Life: I am not a Greek student so I am not sure ow Greek life is or how it is running. But the way I see the Greek life, it is a big organization in Florida A&M University.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: The Greek life is great for gatherings and unity. However the chapter I wanted to join was suspended. They are very difficult to get into if you don't have family ties.

2 College Freshman

Greek Life: I feel like greek LIFE sucks because freshman students cant join!

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: It is entertaining to watch the reaction of non greeks to them and also when they are all together.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek students are viewed as higher on the food chain than non-Greek students. Greek students assist in countless community service events on campus and assist on helping the non-Greek students enjoy their time at Florida A&M University.

Greek life is very important and rich in tradition at FAMU, and many students become involved in a Greek organization before they graduate. The Greeks here are also heavily active—they are always hosting and organizing educational forums, community service events, and campus activities, and they throw the best parties. Housing is available to some Greek organizations, and there are some options in the works. Members who don’t stay in their Greek house stay in other off-campus locations.

The rest of the campus views the Greek community as top-notch. If you are a Greek on campus, then you are someone. In general, students who are not Greek wish they were or are about to become involved. It seems like Greeks get all the attention here, and alumni Greeks always return to the university in big numbers for homecoming. However, becoming affiliated with a Greek organization is not for everyone. But those who are involved express how much it changed their lives for the better. FAMU Greeks are really committed to service and tradition and are not as stuck up as members of Greek organizations at other universities.
