Nobody wants to get you into trouble. It's all about common sense at Fitchburg State. If you shouldn't be doing something at home, chances are you shouldn't do it at college. We are all adults, and that is how we are treated on campus. Campus Police will only interfere if you are doing something that is harmful to you or those around you. If you are underage and drinking dangerously, they will take you back to headquarters. They have all the same rights that the police in your hometown have, so they can call your parents, arrest you, etc. They will come into the dorms if there is a disturbance that the RAs or BD cannot handle on their own.
For the most, part professors allow three unexcused absences before your grade starts to be affected. An excused absence must come with a note from the doctor, your family, or the hospital with the appropriate date(s). Most departments set their own attendance policies for on-campus jobs, work study, trust fund, etc. The RA staff doesn't want to get you into trouble or write you up. Seriously, it just means more work for them. However, if you are disturbing those around you, potentially doing something that could put you and/or those around you in harm's way, or doing anything else that is causing a commotion, they will come speak to you. The first offense may just be a warning, but depending on how severe the incident is, you may be written up. If this continues, higher administration will step in, and you could potentially lose housing privledges. You may sign two people into the residential halls at a time, but you are no in charge of those vistors. If they break the rules, you will get into trouble, too.
