Nightlife: Ferrum nightlife is what you make it. There are no bars are clubs close by that students frequent to. Most of the parties are held within walking distance of campus.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug scene at Ferrum College would be most accurately represented by the consumption of alcohol. It is the most popular "drug" here at Ferrum.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Ferrum College Athletics are popular as most of the students that attend Ferrum are athletes. However, those who do not participate can still be active in intramural sports and from a student's perspective intramural sports are still very competitive and fun for all! With Ferrum being having a small number of students, athletics here is what brings the student population together. The atmosphere at atheletic events here at Ferrum represents the greatly spirited student population that make Ferrum College what it is.

College Freshman

Majors: There were no requirements to be accepted into my program and I feel that this is concerning because the validity of my program is questionable.

College Freshman

Majors: Because my program had zero requirements and is not very challenging I do not feel as though I am truly earning a degree. The most stressful issue I have with my current school is that I wish to double major in Business and Psychology but this college requires me to also earn a liberal arts degree and makes it almost impossible to finish school in 4 years.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The strictness is fairly light, and the police are only involved when their is an issue the RA's can't deal with.

2 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There have been several issues with guns being on campus and students being sexually harassed or raped within the dorm rooms. The large amount of violence that has occurred compared to the number of students on campus is outrages. The only available health clinic is a not a nurses office and is only a clinic that has very limited hours of operation. This created issues when I recieved a concussion my first semester and was not able to get to the hospital or see a trained professional.

3 College Freshman

Weather: The weather during the winter is usually windy, cold, and rainy. During the summer it is usually extremely hot and humid.

1 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The closet town is 20 minutes away and the only available dining options are fast food and two sit down restaurants.

3 College Freshman

Academics: My work load does not seem very challenging. The most challenging part is trying to earn my double majors and having the college insist that I also complete the schools liberal arts degree. The amount of requirements to earn the liberal arts degree is quite stressful when it does not relate to either of my desired majors.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There is some drug usage but I myself do not associate with it so I do not know much about it.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: A majority of the students have conservatives views, and many come from rural areas. There are very few open mended students.

1 College Freshman

Transportation: The shuttle is only available on weekends and is always very cramped. Some students end up sitting on the floor for an hour drive and because there is only one shuttle it is always late.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Initially I wanted to go to Penn State, but my uncle shut that option down quick when they didn't offer a lot of grant money. So when I first visited Ferrum I hated it, I didn't want to be there! Once I actually started attending Ferrum and meeting people started to appreciate my decision. It isn't a school that every city person can attend, but I love the small environment and friendly community. For professors to know me personally and speak when they see me is heart warming and I feel special every time. I love Ferrum and wouldn't transfer at all! It's the right school for me.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life is alright, but we're trying to make it better. Recently I became a member of Delta Phi Epsilon and when we get back to school from break we are having a conference to improve Greek life. We plan on discussing designated housing for greek and more.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: The dining hall is alright, I think they could do better if they took suggestions from us to see what we actually like. When I don't eat in the dining hall we have Papa John's, Subway, a hotdog stand, and a food cart called the Crazy Cuke.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There aren't really any bars or clubs close by for us to go to. The most partying we have is going to one of the 3 fraternity/sorority houses or parties on campus. We often have theme dances, but that's about it.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Depending on where you live on campus will determine the amenities, social atmosphere and cost. For example, I live in Dyer Hall because it's the newest dorm on campus it cost a little more than the other dorms. Inside my dorm we have a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, stove, microwave and sink. To live in my dorm you have to have a certain amount of credits or move in with an upperclassmen.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: If you don't have a car or friends with cars you are pretty much screwed. Well, not really we have a campus shuttle that takes students to various locations, but the time schedule can get crazy. The shuttle is free, but it could be a little more reliable.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Computers are available all over campus. In every level of the library there are computers and printers. Printing has become more fancy, we now only have to swipe our cards to print. Our network speed is okay, considering the fact that we're kind of in the middle of nowhere. I wouldn't say it's necessary to bring your own computer but it would help because when it's finals time the library gets jammed pack.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: We are a small campus pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so if you don't make fun you're pretty much bored. Boredom is a choice at my school if you ask me because there are always events, games, or outdoor activities that you can attend.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: At my school we have a writing and math center where professors are to assist you with any questions you have. We always have the ARC, which is below the library. In the ARC there are on-call tutors there to help students as well. The one thing I really love about my school every student within my program has to do an internship our senior year. We don't have to take any classes, just go to our internship everyday to get experience and hours in our field. I love this idea because it better prepares us for what we're about to get into after we graduate.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: I would really like if some of the students on campus had more spirit, but overall the team performance and fan support is great!

4 College Sophomore

Majors: There weren't really any challenges or difficulties, we were interviewed and the interview determined whether or not you made it into your program. The most important criteria was to have the required GPA and some experience within your major. The application process was normal and unusually easy, but you had to be ready to elaborate on the responses in your interview. My only tip for admission would be to know your stuff!

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I love my program! I am a Social Work major and we have many fun and experimental courses.
