Weather: It get very hectic in winter and a lot of classes get cancelled but overall it is OK.

College Senior

Weather: I am no longer enrolled into school, so the weather would not affect my campus experience.

3 College Senior

Weather: Typical four seasons. Winters are brutal and make you want to stay inside but once it gets nice out all of FIT and the city is out.

2 College Junior

Weather: The weather has been horrible lately. Snow storm after snow storm. And it really sucks to travel in that weather since I don't exactly live across the street. Usually, though, FIT will close the school when it gets really bad. Notice I said "WHEN", and not "In the instance that it might". FIT will wait until 5 of the 10 inches of snow are already down to close the school.

The weather in New York City is one of the first topics to come up in conversation when attending school at FIT. Students have become accustomed to checking the weather every morning, in order to dress accordingly. Looking outside can be deceiving. New York experiences the four seasons: a hot summer, a cool fall, a freezing winter, and a late but enjoyable spring. Students who attend FIT must have a wide range of clothes in order to be prepared for any type of weather.

When the weather is nice, students are found hanging outside on campus or roaming the city, giving them time to enjoy the sun before their next class.
