College Junior

Guys & Girls: Umm... why is this question important? You'll meet new people anywhere you go and each individual is different.

3 College Junior

Facilities: The student center is a little cozy for the number of students that attend, but that's not usually a problem because everyone is friendly.

College Junior

Academics: As I have recently switched majors I am not sure that I would be the best person to answer this question for my major.

5 College Junior

Academics: Evangel offers a lot of classes, majors, tutoring, writing help, and the professors are always willing to lend a helping hand.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: Due to location in Springfield, and Campus Safety, the worst thing you have to worry about is someone picking up something you dropped in the parking lot. Even then, most people take it to the Campus Safety office so you can get it when you realize it's missing.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: Christian University: there is no "parties".

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: What can I say; the food here is great.

3 College Junior

Diversity: It's a private university so what do you expect?

2 College Junior

Campus Dining: Eat off campus or buy your own groceries if you can.

1 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life does not exist at Evangel University.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Other than the dorms, there is married housing that is still technically on campus; but other than that, you're on your own to find somewhere.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: Apply early for everything and keep calling!

4 Recent Alumnus

Guys & Girls: The student body is attractive physically, socially, and spiritually. Evangel was once named one of the most attractive student campuses and most recently one of the top ten healthiest in America. With limited partying, students generally don't go through the wear and tear of alcohol abuse and drugs. Also, the campus is social and caring, adding a beautiful element to the student body.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: The dorms are still in good shape and the cost is relatively low. The social atmosphere is what makes staying on campus worth it, but there is a good sized commuter group.

4 Recent Alumnus

Academics: There are a lot of options for academics. It's great to have a Christian school that is dedicated to developing leaders in any vocation. Several companies, from local to global, love to hire Evangel grads because they expect excellence and strong work ethics.

5 Recent Alumnus

Academics: I love the Communication and Business departments at Evangel. The faculty are engaged, experienced, and love to invest in their students. The alumni networks are awesome and it never ceases to amaze me to hear and see what Evangel grads are doing. The job opportunities are wonderful as well, as long as you commit yourself during school. You graduate with a strong work portfolio and apply what you are learning while being taught.

Facilities: The Academic, Fine Arts, and Student Union buildings are great. The dorms are average, but in good condition with decent space. Some of the varsity athletic facilities need updates, but the facilities for the general student population is newer and very nice. The campus itself is beautiful with good lawn space, trees, and flowers. What is here is well taken care of.

4 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: The financial aid office is readily available to help students.

3 Recent Alumnus

Diversity: Students are encouraged to have healthy dialogue about diversity in the context of faith and religion. As a Christian University there are general biblical beliefs regarding certain lifestyle choices, but this does not negate the emphasis on respecting another's decisions.

4 Recent Alumnus

Local Atmosphere: Springfield is focused on local development and support. Downtown offers a lot of local businesses, which makes for a cool environment.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Strictness: This is a Christian University and you know the rules up front, which are typical of most religious institutions. If you are okay with that, it's a great university that allows you to figure out who you are in a supportive environment. Great social opportunities.

4 Recent Alumnus

Nightlife: Evangel is a Christian University, so bars are off limits. However, the nightlife, coffee houses, and things to do downtown are great.

4 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: There is a lot of support for the varsity and intramural athletic sports teams. The varsity facilities are not great, but it sounds as though they are getting a major overhaul in the near future. The student facilities are great however.

I will say that though the varsity facilities need an upgrade, students show up in droves to attend games. A lot of memories are made at games and matches.

4 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: Several off-campus housing options to choose from. There are several apartments and rental houses in the area. Quality of the housing can range from okay to great, and the cost of living is low.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: The professors overall are excellent and care a great deal about developing their students personally and professionally. Character development is what makes Evangel unique from other schools.
