3 College Freshman

Weather: It's New York City weather. Winters can be pretty bad because it snows and then the snow turns into slush and ice.

1 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The classes are interesting, and a lot of the professors are great.

However the school doesn't give a damn about you or your needs. You are a customer to them.

Guys & Girls: People here are all generally the same. Same interests, style, etc. There are very few guys in relation to girls. For most classes of 30 people you'll have about 2 guys.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: The school itself doesn't have buses or anything like that to transport students. However, Penn Station is a short train ride away. You can take a taxi to the airport.

2 College Freshman

Facilities: There really is no real "campus" so you don't have any real place for students to have events and hang out. There are no real athletic centers. The libraries are a mess.

2 College Freshman

Facilities: The social scene is terrible. Everyone does their own thing. There is no such thing as campus life really since there is no campus.

The school is located in a great area so that helps.

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drugs (especially weed) and alcohol are definitely a huge part of the social atmosphere. Many people here participate in them. If you look hard enough you'll find people who don't. Also, almost everyone smokes cigarettes.

Scholarships: They don't particularly care about you, especially in terms of financial aid. If you ask for more they will tell you to take out loans. They're very unhelpful. My advice would be if you know you can't afford it with the package they gave you then go elsewhere. If you're taking out loans you probably won't be getting your money's worth.

Computers: There are not enough computers on campus. They have PC's and Mac's. One building has several computer labs, but most of them only have 4-8 computers per building. The Wifi is pretty slow, and printing is a nightmare since they only have 2-3 printers in most buildings that don't even work half the time.

Local Atmosphere: There's a lot to do since it's in the heart of Greenwich Village, a really trendy area. However it can be pretty pricey to find something decent to do.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: One of the best neighborhoods in Manhattan. There's always stuff to do!

Weather: NYC weather is perfect in the spring & fall, super cold in the winter, and kinda disgustingly hot in the summer.

College Freshman

Academics: I don't have a major yet ;)

4 College Freshman

Academics: TONS of reading. Really interesting and unique classes

Guys & Girls: Speaking as a straight girl, I'll say that the girls are gorge and so are a lot of the guys... buuuuut most of the guys like other guys.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: NYC public transportation is nice because it runs constantly (super late at night and early in the morning)

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Students are very diverse in ethnic backgrounds and nationality, and sexual orientation. Most students share pretty similar political beliefs.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The school is great. I am just not financially stable to attend it right now.

Health & Safety: Safety should not be a problem. Its Manhattan.

Scholarships: At my previous college it was much better. This is part of the reason why I am considering leaving.

College Freshman

Parking: ITS NEW YORK CITY.... what student drives anyway? Leave your car at home if you plan on attending this school. There is no need for it at Lang.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: It's much better to live off campus for the simple reason that it is MUCH cheaper. Paying for the dorms is the only reason I am considering leaving. Subletting and renting is a better option. It is just important to find a safe clean place. People are moving around the city all the time, so it is easy to find a place. For the academic year I would recommend looking for off campus housing immediately. First come-first served kind thing

Off-Campus Dining: The cheapest thing one can get is a dollar slice of pizza, which is very commonly eaten. The campus is in Manhattan so restaurants can be very expensive, but if you are a smart shopper you can find food for cheap. After all it is New York City, there is a lot of opportunity to get your way.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: The dorms are extremely strict, and are always there for protocol during storms (ie. Sandy). I lock my doors anyway because it is New York City, but I'm not too worried about other students stealing my things.

Campus Dining: The food is pretty good, and the staff are really friendly. I don't have a meal plan because there's no real need. Living in the dorms automatically puts money into your account, but it's useful for coffee in between classes.
