Online Courses: I have not taken any online courses, but If i were to take an online course I believe that I would have more liberty and flexibility to manage my time . Assignments would be completed during times of the day where I feel more productive.I would expect assignments to be as intellectually stimulating as a classroom assignment in order to keep the same level of difficulty and efficiency of the learning material.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Stay Alert – Receiving financial aid can be a hassle. It is always good to do extra research concerning financial aid in order to get the most out of it. Obtaining the requirements on time is an important factor; do not wait at the last minute to apply for financial aid, because you might become stressed out or even lose a semester because you've realize that you are missing documents to complete it.Sometimes getting those documents take several weeks. Luckily I had my brother to help me and I had less trouble applying for it. If everything is done in a timely manner and you have the information you need, then you are good to go!

Career Services: Career Center Helpful – They normally have someone there that can help students with the trasferring process. they have a board for job listings. Overall helpful department.

Academic Experience: I have had a good academic experience. I think tha I am getting what I need to thrive in my line of work once I graduate.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The Process Is Very Long and Time Consuming If You Are Missing Any Information. Our financial aid office works efficiently, however they work very slowly and therefore wait time is serious. There is alwasy a line at the financial aid, bursar and registration office. the online web registration has cut down alot of the hassle and frustration.

Academic Experience: Some Professors Are Not as Approachable as Others. there have been times when students may have complications in their personal life which may interfere with their academic success or progress. There are some teachers that are not sensitive to those things. Yes, as adults we need to figure out how to overcome those trials and tribulations and make sure we get through school accordingly but there are some things that are just beyond our control. Most students that attend a community college have many obligations outside of school and the teachers should at least take some of these things into consideration and be more sensitive to the students.

Academic Flexibility: Not Flexible – my one Prof. I had work around my illness, so I did my homework from school. My other math teacher and the Admin. would not let me.

Overall Experience: My Life at E.C.C. overall, it is very good. just some bumps here and there. The cafe is very pricey. One lady in the enrollment office is very grumpy.

Student Body: No School Spirit – Essex county college is mostly for students who are from Essex county. The majority of students there are of African decent whether that be African, Caribbean or African american. Students don't really interact with one another and that is mostly because they don't have a chance to. There is no where, besides the cafeteria, where students can sit and relax between classes so most people are forced to go to class then go straight home.

Campus Resources: Teacher Really Cares About the Students – the teachers make sure that everyone understand what they are talkingt about. they use different methods to help you understand everything.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The process and experience when applying for financial aid is a breeze and the money for the classes is very sufficient. The classes are priced a reasonable amount for each individual. Now the price for the school books are ridiculous, which is just my opinion.

Student Body: Overall, Essex County College has an average student body. When it comes to diversity we have anice amount of Diversity. Coming from Montclair I would actually like to see more diversity. We have many different religions but we are prodominantly an African American college. I wish we had more ethnicities and races.

Campus Resources: Computer Network – The computer network at Essex County College is actually an excellent one. Essex County College has about five computer labs and they are user friendly. I never really need assistance because the labs are acessible.Whenever I do need help with something the people who work in the lab never hesitate to help me.As humans we have our good days and our bad days but the poeple working in the lab never let their bad days interfer with their work.

Academic Experience: My Experience in Professor Chukunta's Class – I took reading 096 last semester and it was an amzing experience. My professor Dr.Chukunta's class was by far my favorite because he taught me how to come out of my shell and talk to others which helped me voice my opinion. Dr.Chukunta also taught me the grammatical mistakes that most people are just from poor teaching. Dr. Chukunta taught me to be a better writer and because of him I make better grades in my class this semester. Dr. Chukunta actually cared about his students. If a student was missing class or their grade slipped he would not hesitate to write you an email. Dr. Chukunta actually took the time to get to know each and everyone of his students in the a professional manner. Unfortunately I do not have Dr. Chukunta this semester but if I have a paper that i need to be looked over before I give it to my new professor I give to Dr.Chukunta to check over and he proofreads and lets me know what I need to get rid of or add to.

Career Services: I would recommend that the college hires some more career advisors for the career center because as far as I know, there is only one career advisor who works with students who are seeking employment. It is very difficult to get in touch with the career advisor.

Academic Flexibility: The Ups and Downs – My experience at my school has been very rocky. I've had alot of struggles with financial aid, struggles with classes, and had a hassle with registration. I've had many frustrations with my school as far as some professors that didn't express much care to the student but the transferring process was a piece of cake.

Academic Experience: Classes Are Interesting and Helpful – I'm a student who is taking basic classes before entering into college course; however, my experience so far within Essex County College has been really good. I'm enrolled in a program called Project Degree, that helps freshman student adapt to the college environment by showing, giving and teaching how: to find essential resources, where to go and becoming leaders. Essex County College as a whole helped me improve on how to make wise decision by keeping me notified with critical event such as Finical Aid advisory. Essex County College is a reliable and worth the enrollment.

Academic Experience: Fantastic Teachers and Extra Help – I registered late, so my class registration was basically grab any class I can to help get my degree in Biology/Pre-Medicine. My professors are all really fun to learn from and I enjoy going to my classes. All of my teachers don't just ask if you want help they are willing to help any student who comes to them. My school also has a tutoring area, so that even if you can't reach the professor or want an opinion from someone else you can go there.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My Future – I received financial Aid, which covered a large portion of my fees. I think that what I have to pay more then covers what it's worth. My future career hangs on my degree and I will get it even if I have to work and take one class at a time. I want my degree and I want to work in my chosen field and nothing will stop me from doing it!

Tuition & Financial Aid: The Education Is Well Above the Money – there are many opportunities like financial aids and scholarships if you are qualified

Online Courses: Online Influence – Although I took a traditional class we also had to incorporate some online education from our textbook, as well. I liked it its just that if your computer shuts off during a quiz you fail.
