5 College Sophomore

Academics: If you are majoring in any education field this is definitely the best school! They really work with you to make sure you're on the right track. It is famous for its teaching programs and houses the National Teachers Hall of Fame.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: All of my science professors are extremely helpful. They want their students to succeed and will do all they can to help you do that. That being said they expect a lot out of you and do not take excuses. That goes for my theatre professors as well. Both have clubs and various opportunities depending on which section of science/theatre you are involved in.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: I am a science education major which means I have quite a few hard classes. However, I use the resources available - free tutoring, office hours for ALL of my professors, and fellow students. All of my professors were great. No matter what the question they were always willing to help. Last semester I always seemed to be interrupting my professors lunch however, he never seemed sour about it and helped me until I understood what I needed. Curriculum wise I think they assign more text books then they actually use. I could have saved myself almost $200 last semester had they not put books on the required list that I read for only 3 weeks. That is college for you. As long as you are diligent and generally want to do well in your classes and actually spend a good amount of time on your homework the workload is not bad. As I said I had a lot of science classes so I spent a lot more time on those then I did for my general classes.

4 College Freshman

Academics: It is interesting because not a lot of students are interested in English as major. It takes a semester or two to get into the programs to get rid of the general education standards, but that is the same at any other school.

5 College Freshman

Academics: The academics at Emporia State University are top notch!
