4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Right beyond the neighborhood of Emory is the entire city of Atlanta which is teeming with places to go and events to attend all throughout the year.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: The parties here aren't that great and a lot of people go to parties at schools around here off campus or they like to go clubbing in the city.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: Personally not a fan of frat row. I prefer nearby dance clubs. There are a decent number of them near campus.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: As long as you know a native of Atlanta or do your research, there are lots of fun and diverse hangouts for the night.

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: Frat parties are always a lot of fun. Local bars are not strict. Overall very fun. This is a work hard, play hard school

Emory students benefit immensely from going to school near a city as unique and exciting as Atlanta. Emory has a very vibrant social scene for all students, ranging from on-campus frat parties to downtown nightclubs and bars. Every few weeks, there are promotional events downtown at certain nightclubs, and these venues often fill up fast with Emory students. Tuesday and Thursday nights are usually big nights for off-campus events, while the weekends usually consist of various themed fraternity parties followed up by a nightcap at Maggie's.

Some students claim this routine gets old fast, so they experiment with various bars and clubs in Midtown, Buckhead, Little Five Points, and the Highlands. These areas contain many unique spots and quickly become favorites to some students. Most clubs and bars are 21-and-up, but usually the college nights or promotional events are 18-and-up, resulting in an extremely overcrowded venue teeming with inebriated teenagers. Maggie's is extremely lax when it comes to fake IDs, and students often joke that they could get in using a person's ID who is a different race. But be wary, the clubs and bars downtown are more strict, and many students who don fake IDs end up getting them confiscated.

While Emory used to offer underage club nights on Thursdays, the Atlanta City Council recently passed an ordinance that prohibits anyone under the age of 21 from going to clubs. Unfortunately, this limits the choices for underagers to frat parties or fake IDs.
