Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Be a well-rounded student with multiple extracurriculars.
  • Emory loves diversity, so keep this in mind when filling out your application and writing your essay.
  • Have something unique that you can contribute to the Emory community.
  • The obvious stuff can't hurt. Have good grades, a high GPA, and good SAT scores.
  • Submit an application essay.
  • Visit the school to show you are serious about attending.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • A car is necessary to see all of Atlanta.
  • Emory is a Northern school in the heart of the South. There are no Southern belles here.
  • Some professors are nearly impossible to reach via email.
  • The undergraduate business school is like a cult. So are the Oxford continuees.
  • Varsity athletics are not a big deal to the majority of Emory students.
Interviews & Information Sessions
Call the admissions office at (800) 727-6036 or (404) 727-6036.
Campus Tours
Campus tours run most weekdays (except holidays, between semesters, during finals, and during spring break). Tours depart at every two hours 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Call in advance of your visit to check the availability of the tour.
Overnight Visits
To arrange an overnight stay in an Emory residence hall, call (800) 727-6036 or (404) 727-6036. You must be a high school senior to participate. Overnight visits take place from late September to late November, and again from late January through early March. You must arrange your visit at least two weeks in advance. This overnight stay does not at all predict how your four years will be here. You could get someone too boring or too crazy to stay with, you could have the time of your life, or you could be bored to tears. Researching your choice thoroughly is the key to a happy and productive four years.
