3 College Sophomore

Transportation: They have shuttles to take you to the local super markets and the train station that can take you to NYC or Philly is pretty close. However, you need a car or a friend with a car if you want to do any other kind of shopping.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: There is a shuttle that goes out every week and students to Kmart where there are several other stores too. You shop for what you need. Campus security will take you to the airport for free, I am from a different state so that's great for me, a taxi cost me $60 last time, before I knew about the campus security. They will even take you to the train station for free.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: Most students on campus bring their cars, so the college does not generally provide transportation except for shuttles here and there for specialty events.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: Mostly you don't have to go off campus for anything, but if you do there is a shuttle on Monday nights and Thursday nights.

College Junior

Transportation: There is no transportation offered at this school.

Transportation on campus isn’t a problem because it is small. There aren’t any shuttles for everyday use unless a student is injured. Walking, bicycling, skateboarding, and riding a scooter are the most popular ways that students get around campus. It’s possible to walk to the major stores in town, like Target and CVS, but it’s a bit of a dangerous walk. Most students either have a car on campus or get rides with friends. If students like to go out on the weekends, having a car at Etown will be an indispensable tool.

There are only so many places that students can walk to, and cabs, buses, or even the Amtrak train can get quite expensive. Some students have purchased a student plan pass on the Amtrak site, but that deal only really benefits students that travel longer distances quite frequently. Occasionally Etown will sponsor shuttles that will go to a few select destinations for a day, such as the King of Prussia mall or Hershey Outlets. Generally, students don’t go off campus unless they have their own means or the help of a friend.

Best Ways to Get to the Airport
The best way to travel to and from Harrisburg International Airport is to call ahead to campus security and request a shuttle. The service is free, as long as they are given a three-day warning. The service is for the student only, not for family or friends. The next best option would be to have a friend drive.
Local Taxi Services
Lancaster County Taxi Service - They're based in Ephrata, which is a short distance away, but they are timely and relatively cheap. They often provide discounts for airport shuttles as well.
