Campus Strictness: I for one don't think that the campus is very strict. People still do what ever it is that they want to do.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The campus strictness at my school is very average.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Campus police are very dedicated to making sure the students are safe while they are in their dorms and out on the yard too.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: The visitation system in dorms is nice. It allows for security without completely preventing visitation. Although freshman aren't allowed to have visitors of the opposite sex, the rules change for upper level students. The attendance policies are not too strict, but some teachers follow them more or less strictly

Campus Strictness: There's Not Enough Punishment – I feel that students caught drinking or doing drugs don't receive severe enough punishment. If students caught were given more severe punishment you would have as many problems.

Elizabeth City State University has a no-alcohol policy on campus. Campus police enforce the policy, and anyone caught drinking on campus will be in serious trouble. However, there isn't much that campus police can do to prevent all alcohol consumption from happening. This policy is probably the strictest there is on campus, besides the plagiarism policy in and outside of the classroom. Campus police do not badger students, but they do make sure that the campus is safe for everyone by not allowing strangers on campus, if it can be prevented.

The resident assistants are very tolerable and lenient at times, but they do their jobs to make sure students are not doing any acts that could get them into trouble. There is always someone on duty at the University, whether it is campus police or resident assistants. The campus is very safe and welcoming to visitors and parents. All administrative staff involved with keeping the campus safe and homey is very reasonable with punishment if any policy is broken. The students seem to think that campus police, administrative staff, and resident assistants are pretty fair in their treatment of students. Elizabeth City State University has also encouraged students to become a part of Viking Patrol, a group of students who help keep the campus safe from harm.
