Academic Experience: The professors are great! They're one of the reasons that make the school so amazing. I would not have done it if it wasn't for them.

Academic Experience: The only thing I wish East West would do differently with their curriculum is include the certification costs into the tuition. That way you don't have to worry about getting enough funds by the time you graduate. Other than that there's free tutoring if you're behind, they always check up when you are behind too. The program can go as fast or as slow as you want it, and the facilities are always clean and professional. They hand out job openings in their alumni newsletters too about 2-3 times a month.

Student Body: You have to give trades in most of the classes you take. So the students are really good at being connected and making sure we can help each other out. I lived an hour away from the school and never had a huge issue in getting help with someone.

Campus Resources: Need a personal computer. They do have a lab but it is slow and the computers are ancient. Copies are .25.

Student Body: This school is awesome. I believe it is the best massage school in Oregon. The OBMT statistics back this up. The teachers are fantastic and truly love what they do and are passionate about it. The students come from all different backgrounds and ages. It is a very welcoming environment. I am very happy with my choice to go here.

Campus Resources: No Online Courses – Massage is a 'hands-on immersion' in every sense of the phrase. There are no online courses because the classes are focused on how to touch each muscle, the feeling of the touches, how it feels to both give and receive and how much one learns through each experience. One would not benefit much from an online Massage Therapy program in my opinion because the material isn't 'fleshed out.'This is a biased personal philosophy, not a review.

Campus Resources: Small and Personal – The school is fairly small and smack in the center of Portland. The surrounding buildings are all medical buildings, so you really don't feel like you're going to school. You feel like you are being professionally trained for this profession.
The interactions you have at a massage therapy school is very personal, because you practice on each other. It takes a lot of trust and openness with each other, but in the end you feel a lot more accomplished as a group.

Overall Experience: For What It Is – I'll admit I did not visit multiple schools when deciding where to study Massage Therapy. I liked that this school was in Portland, and their massage clinic is very nice. The teachers are friendly and seem to enjoy their job, and the classrooms have open windows. Although the campus is small (only one building) the surrounding area is beautiful including a great cafe up the street. I would recommend it to a person studying massage therapy.
