Academic Experience: They require more Pre reqs than St louis community college but after St.louis community college missed up twice with financial aide with me. I would rather go to a school who knows what there doing then the other school who has no idea what there telling there students about classes or fincisl aide. East central is the best.

Academic Experience: Its a smaller college but there study options are great. I have not had a problem getting a class I need. The tutoring and homework help is awsome

Online Courses: I have only taken one completely online class so far, but I passed it with flying colors, so that was a good experience. The teacher was kind of distant, but after a while, we got to know her teaching style, and made it work for us.

Overall Experience: Like any other school, there are amazingly excellent professors that do everything they can to help you understand the material, and there are teachers that are just there for a paycheck. And then there are teachers in the whole range in between.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I am attending school on a Pell grant, and that was all straightforward. My school was very helpful in submitting my application, and I had already helped my son fill out his application, so I had a little experience in that regard. However, there are additional forms of financial aid available that I did not learn about until later from fellow students and websites like this.

Academic Flexibility: During my first semester, I was told that certain classes would not transfer, and I would have to take a few general education classes. When I signed up for my third semester, however, my new advisor got them to transfer, so I no longer need to take those extra classes.

Facilities: Our school has a great art gallery in which students and local artists display their works. Many people from the community visit the art gallery as well. It also has a large auditorium which is used by many local performers; everything from school plays and musicians to local musicians, allowing local residents to broaden their horizons concerning various types of music that they might not be able to enjoy otherwise.

Campus Resources: Every resource that I have used so far has been great. The library especially is technologically modern, and has many computers available for students to use that don't have them. The student center is a large, bright, airy place, and many students use it to congregate and socialize. I have only been to a few campus activities, but so far I have been happy with them.

Student Body: The male-to-female ratio is great, but the racial diversity is not, considering the rural area in which I live. The political and religious ratios seem to be good, but I tend to stay out of those kinds of discussions.

Career Services: Once you receive your degree you have the option to continue forth and pursue your career or stay and take more classes to learn new things.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition and financial aid received at this school is by far the cheapest and most accessible out of all that I've researched. I am a fulltime student in need of some extra financial help when it comes to college and when I asked for help my advisor had me sign a piece of paper and I was instantly entered in for several scholarships. It was that easy.

Facilities: I'd have to say the most unique thing about our school is the support it provides to the community. Our school has established it's own food pantry, prom dress donations, and helping out local entrepreneurs. The food pantry is open to everyone attending and all of the community and anyone in need of some necessities is welcome to ten items a week. The prom dress donation gives young high school girls a chance to look their best at prom for free by borrowing used prom dresses. Then there's the local entrepreneur; the Hotdog Man. He is a New York hotdog stand guy that moved to Washington and wished to continue selling his hotdogs, so ECC allows him to come to the campus every Tuesday to promote his business.

Academic Experience: The professors are excellent to work with. They excel in their field of study and are easily capable of answering difficult questions thrown their way. The best aspect of the professors is their flexibility to work with students who need their help. They are usual stern about deadlines but are understanding when certain occasions arise that are beyond anyone's control. The professors are always eager to guide students along the right path and help them to do their best in the class.

Academic Experience: I am currently working on a General Studies Associate Degree. Working on this degree will help me save money when transferring to another college because I won't need to take classes that aren't related to my subject. Pursuing the General Studies program can be difficult at times because rather than buckling down and taking just career related classes, I am taking a large variety of classes which can provide for an abundance of homework. Even though the workload can be large at times, the deadlines are always within reason, especially for anyone with a part-time job.

Campus Resources: By far the best resources I've seen at a community college. The library has a large variety of books, computer labs are accessible in every building, and tutoring sessions are available all day. There is even a way to talk to an actual librarian over the school website if you have any questions when you are away from school.

Campus Resources: The printing system as the school is very creative. Every student is allowed 250 free prints a semester and is given a card with a code and password. This helps students save money and it also prevents from papers being wasted. Also, the computer labs are unique. There are several different computer rooms and areas on campus. Each room has a noise proximate requirement which helps students to fit into the environment that suits them best. There are also testing computer labs for students needing to make-up tests. Then there are group project rooms which locks out noise from the inside and outside so that group projects can be done with ease.

Online Courses: Being allowed to take online classes is an excellent way to continue education. It's easy to access and follow. What makes it the best is that you can use your own time to do assignments rather than stressing out over short deadlines.
