Facilities: Students on this campus are seen going to classes or the library most of the time. They even go to different student centers available to us. We have two great dining halls, along with other dining options such as Subway or Chic-fil-a. The campus is never empty unless it's an holiday which makes the campus a bit safer too. The faculty members are also seen on campus either going to class or getting coffee. They are definitely friendly and they will definitely stop to talk to you if you see them on the campus. There are many events that occur on the campus which gets the students involved! One place where events occur is Mendenhall and that is also one place for students to hangout or have study group sessions or even a club meeting. Overall, this campus is a friendly and resourceful campus!

Academics: The academics offered at ECU are often underrated. Most people do not acknowledge how great the programs at ECU are. Most people also do not realize that we have an awesome medical and teaching program. ECU actually graduates the most teachers and nurses in the state of NC.

Academics: To be a Communication major at ECU is great. You get to meet so many people that you would have never thought had the same major and likes as you do.

Nightlife: Obviously, if you have heard anything about East Carolina University, then you have heard that it's THE party school. Now, for people who like to party, then yes it's amazing. However, for people like me who maybe like to have quiet nights in, it's great too. ECU definitely has a nightlife and holds various parties but it's not too overbearing to where people who do not like to party can't have a good time either.

Majors: The Communication program at ECU is one of the best in the nation. They offer a variety of fields that you can enter. I am a Public Relations major and I absolutely love it! They have organizations, classes, and internships that definitely help me to improve my skills in my communication and leadership capabilities.

Majors: As an uprising Junior, I have not completed an internship yet. However, I plan on completing one by at least next summer. ECU offers to many advisers and faculty members to help students land the internships that they desire.

Scholarships: Obviously, financial aid at any school can be a hassle. However, at ECU, our financial aid office works really hard to make sure that each students is taken care of and that he/she gets the adequate amount of aid to help them stay in school.

Off-Campus Housing: I personally do not live off-campus, however, I have many friends who do and they absolutely love it. Living off-campus is cheaper than living on-campus, and ECU still provides bus transportation to each of the off-campus housing facilities to bring students to and from classes Monday-Friday which I think is absolutely incredible; especially because its free to ride the ECU bus.

Facilities: The student life on campus is impeccable. There are so many spots that you can go to study and/or just to hang out with friends. The Iibrary is open 24/7 and the student center has everything from coffee shops, computer labs, a bowling alley, and even a movie theater that shows free screenings of the most recent movies to students!

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: ECU offers a wide range of classes that are available to anyone, regardless of their major which is quite amazing!

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: The teachers, advisers, faculty, and career center work so hard to make sure that each of their students receive the best education and are set up with employers so by the time they graduate, they are already well on their way to success.

Athletics: ECU has the best school spirit of any college or university in the Carolinas. Everyone on campus is proud to be a Pirate and you can feel and see the school spirit all over campus; even off campus. The local restaurants and even stores like Walmart and Target all have our mascot Peety the Pirate standing outside.

Overall Experience: My overall experience is okay. I haven't encountered anything that made it super great or super bad

Scholarships: 'm not sure that the situation for this topic is great at any university. At ECU you can get what you need, but some the staff at the finical aid office can be quite rude

Off-Campus Dining: ff-campus food in this town is the best! There are so many one of a kind places and many places that offer student discounts. The cost is pretty average, although a handful of places are surprisingly cheap for the quality. The best random place to eat in this town in RJs, they have southern style BBQ and collard greens. I also love campus calzones and a great sushi option is Japan Inn, they have great student discounts and offers.

Greek Life: Greek life is very big on our campus, there are events almost every week. Some non-Greeks are very anti Greek, but I've met a lot of nice Greeks, and a lot of not-so-nice Greeks. It's like that with everybody, though, so it's really nothing new.

Campus Strictness: U is good at worrying about the correct things other than when it comes to alcohol use being too big of a focus instead of other crime issues in the surrounding Greenville area.

4 College Junior

Majors: I really enjoy my major and professors. Most of my professors have been very helpful and are there if you need them.

4 College Junior

Majors: Registration is intense and stressful, but if you're prepared it'll be a lot easier. The professors and classes offered are wonderful

Facilities: I love the athletic centers and the student center and especially the library

Facilities: lot of students are quick to say Greenville is a bad environment. If students gave Greenville a chance off-campus they would find that there is actually some pretty cool places. We are basically the restaurant capitol of North Carolina, and there are many one of a kind places to eat. Other than food and drinks, on campus is probably your best bet if you want to have some recreational fun.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: people are really friendly, you meet someone new all the time. people dress normally, just do what they want.

4 College Junior

Diversity: Diversity on campus is found everywhere, there are so many types of people at this university. I have learned about other cultures just from meeting people in my class who were not born in America.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: I love ECU! I wouldn't want to go anywhere else! The school spirit and atmosphere is phenomenal! The professors are great and everyone is really friendly. We've been known as a party school for the longest time, and yes we party a lot, but we're also in class working hard to get good grades and be successful.

Campus Dining: : The choices around campus are very unique, such as the chinese food place, the calzones at the pizza place and the taco bowl. Having a chilies on campus is also a beautiful way to burn up some pirate bucks. Todd dining hall has some pretty great food but my only complaint is that none of the food locations around campus offer a healthy option as a pirate meal. All the pirate meals are things like pizza and burgers, never wraps and salads. That is a little annoying but other than that I love the food choices

The quality and enthusiasm of the professors who care about their students is what attracts and retains students who could have gone to larger and more prestigious schools. Greenville is quite charming and has such good local food that most skeptics love the area, or at least ECU, by the time they graduate. Although the campus police are friendly, ECU is quite strict, perhaps in an effort to downplay the “party school” reputation. The strictness, however, contributes to student safety and helps reduce the drug presence on campus. Alcohol is a problem for some students, and the clubs are tempting, but the counseling center can help students with their problems. ECU’s computer resources are excellent, and the athletic facilities are better than the teams’ records. ECU’s most enjoyable facilities are the green areas, especially because the weather here is so pleasant—crazy, but pleasant.

Whether living on or off campus, students should join organizations to maximize their college involvement and build leadership experience for their resume. With ECU’s diverse student population, new students can easily find an organization, Greek or non-Greek, that is for them. ECU is reputed to have one of the highest concentrations of pretty girls anywhere, and the guys are good-looking overall, too. The Southern hospitality creates a welcoming social atmosphere. ECU has been through sports losses and administrative shake-ups in the past, but some of the political damage seems to be getting straightened out. So, as usual, ECU students are optimistic. They will continue to be easy-going, yet serious and balanced, fun-loving learners.
