Nightlife in Philadelphia is, frankly, incredible. Luckily, students don't have to wait until they're 21 to join in on the fun. Many clubs let in people 18 and older, but don't serve anyone under 21. Most underclassmen will remain on campus on party nights, frequenting house and frat parties—which are certainly underrated. At the upperclassman level, however, it becomes more fun to venture downtown and dance the night away. Philadelphia's strong musical roots make it an ideal place for nightlife. Famous DJs like DJ Rap, Josh Wink, Tony Touch, DJ Revolution, Cash Money, Jazzy Jeff, and DJ Craze spin here regularly as guest DJs. There is a dance club for every kind of music fan out there. There are punk clubs, reggae clubs, salsa clubs, and more. And it's great to meet all kinds of young people that you don't see in school every day, considering Philadelphia houses the highest population of college students in the country.
If students are looking for a more laid-back time, the neighborhood bars in Old City and University City offer a different kind of night with peanut shell-covered floors, games of pool, and sports on TV. Students do not seem to be too fond of campus parties, so the best bet for a great time is to partake in the vast opportunities that the city has to offer. Philadelphia is a Drexel University student's oyster.
