2 College Student

Local Atmosphere: It's very near the city but there aren't really any things to do besides shopping for students.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: It's perfectly fine, but not amazing. There are two or three malls within 20-30 minutes driving, which is nice. However, the same kind of thing gets old.

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: I grew up in Des Moines and I love it.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Because Drake is located in Des Moines, the state capital things are also occurring. There are a lot of restaurants and museums, parks, ect. all through the city as well as special events like marathons, concerts, and sporting events. Des Moines is also a political hot spot.

Local Atmosphere: Let's be honest, this is a city, albeit a small one, but a city nonetheless and all cities have "bad areas" unfortunately the school butts up against one of those, but all student s know to stay away from that area, and few incidents occur, those that do are reported immediately to the school populace, so we know what's happening and to stay safe. Our attractions are perfect, and the locals are extremely friendly!
