Academics: Great faculty. Difficult workload, but it's worth it. Good facilities.

Academics: Excellent academics here. The programs are rigorous, and the faculty are smart and extremely approachable. A strong number of majors considering the size of the school. The incredibly high percentage of kind, amazing, fun fellow students are the biggest reason you go to Dordt, but the academics are the second reason.

Academics: I love nursing. They have an amazing program. Though the advisors we are given are kind of slack. They are not always available 24/7 and don't always help people out on an urgent basis nor do they explain why they ask certain information of us but I'm sure they do lots of stuff beside teach a few BSN. Otherwise the program/education itself is great.

Academics: High Achieving – Dordt College has excellent academics. Many of the students are above a 3.3 GPA. Students try very hard because they pay so much for their college tuition. My major is a challenge. The professor's challenge you and want you to do your best, and they care about your grades and work with you. Within my major, Political Science, my program offers various classes that can meet students needs. For example, if a student is more interested in Law, the Political Science department offers law classes. If a student of more offered in Government, the Political Science Department offers those classes, too!
My workload is heavy, but that is because I want to be a Law Student, so I take a lot of law classes and harder classes that will look good on a Law School application. Other students I have talked to in my major have said they have a moderate work load, which they enjoy.
Within my major we are required to have an internship, and these are very easy to get. Our professors work with us to find an internsip that fits best with what we are interested in doing in the future. I have not heard of any difficulties of finding internships from other students.

Academics: I am quite satisfied with the education I have been given so far at Dordt College. The professors have great experience and allows for better understanding of the subjects. Being from a smaller town, we are capable of focusing on lower end enforcement like local police officers or corrections. Since it is a smaller school, there is a better connection between the students and the professors. The professors are willing to meet with the students outside of class and encourage asking questions. The workload is bearable, but at times kind of high. The curriculum offers a wide variety of backgrounds but allows us to go into specifics as well. There are many opportunities for internships/jobs which are in driving distance, and almost always the desired internship is given. For being in a smaller town, Dordt is very well kept and up to date on their facilities, and are continually making changes to better adapt college life. Dordt is a very integrated college which offers many opportunities for interaction, whether it be in clubs, or campus wide outings.

A holistic, Christian worldview is at the core of Dordt's academics. Many students choose to go to Dordt for that reason. Overall, the professors are passionate about providing quality, Christian education to the students. With class sizes kept relatively small (around 25 students), you have the opportunity to really get to know your professors and classmates. The professors push for you to succeed, and they are more than willing to stick around after class and talk with you about whatever is on your mind, whether it's related to the class or not.

If professors are not available in person, they can easily be reached via e-mail. But e-mailing is a two-way street. Professors also use it to give assignments, so you have to check your Dordt e-mail at least once a day or you might miss something. Sometimes the workload can get overwhelming, but it really depends on what courses you take and what else you're involved in. Some majors are more demanding than others. Also, it depends on how many credits you take each semester. The average number of credits a student takes is 15. If you take more than 18.5 credits, you pay more.
