Facilities: Everything is pretty good. Students have everything they need for success here.

Online Courses: Face-to-face interaction with the professor is much better than online because things will be discussed in better detail and your questions can be answered right away. If any additional explanation is needed, the teacher is right there in class to help.

Campus Resources: Diablo Valley College has the resources a college student could want in order to succeed.

Facilities: I believe that this school is best for me as I begin my journey into the real world. Unfortunately I come from a low income family that has a given me the motivation to prosper and move forward to conquer greater goals. Maybe even a better position in life someday, as I have the dream to become a lawyer. Law school will be expensive when I get to that stage in my life so I need all the help I can receive to get through college. My school offers tons of programs for those that are moving in the direction of becoming a lawyer, so that gives me a good sense of what I really want to do with my life, driving me to achieve that goal with so much more energy. I do plan to transfer as for my school does offer programs that will allow me to do so. For the next 2 years DVC will be my campus as I am pushing myself to attend school summer, fall, and spring to reach the finish line.

Online Courses: Online courses have proven their worth in both convenience and ability to work at a steady pace. The environment of my online classes was surprising interactive. In both my English and Business Law class that I took online, students interacted with their peers on a regular basis. Taking an online course is terrific if you have kids or a demanding schedule in the real world. The only downfalls of an online class are the lack of tactile feeling, of actually stimulating visual and auditory stimilu (sensations that a student would normally receive in a physical classroom) and working around technical issues.

Academic Experience: Teachers are great at helping students. Plenty of tutors available.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: It's nice that they even offer the major, but it is popular and can be hard to get the necessary classes.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academic Flexibility: The majority of classes are offered during certain time periods, very few in comparison to all the classes are offered at night or on weekends.

Campus Resources: Good student centers and athletic centers, but very little campus activities.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: Reliable network that is widely available, plenty of computers, but not enough printers for the student body.

3 Recent Alumnus

Student Body: People are friendly, but are really just there to go to class and then go home.

3 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: They are renovating a lot of the buildings, but there really isn't any greenery except trees. Not many places to study either.

Recent Alumnus

Online Courses: I have not taken an online course at DVC yet, but will this upcoming semester.

Recent Alumnus

Career Services: I have not tried to use the career services, nor have i heard about them from other people.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Cheaper than other community colleges I know of and good financial aid.

Overall Experience: Great classes to get you into the best colleges with the right amount of effort.

Student Body: people there mostly cared about their looks, not about studying.

3 College Senior

Career Services: not really any services that i know of.

2 College Senior

Campus Resources: most of the campus has been under construction since I started school there so parking and walking from class to class has always been a hassle. There are not enough classes to accommodate all the students, and the teachers care more about getting through subjects than the number of people actually able to retain the information.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: there are always plenty of computers available and internet was always working.

2 College Senior

Online Courses: I have never met the professors that I have taken online courses from. If given the time and opportunity, i would have much rather taken those courses in a traditional classroom.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Like all other schools, tuition and books were completely over priced. On many instances, i would buy a book for an excessive amount of money, then at the end of the semester, not be able to return it, or only get a couple dollars back from the school. I don't feel as if i learned much, but i just needed to transfer with 60 units, which is what i did.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: admissions department was very difficult to deal with. It seemed like they had no care for the students and our needs. But, counselors were pretty helpful and i did graduate with an associates degree.

College Sophomore

Career Services: I have not experienced post grad services before.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The most used resource for myself would be the tutoring computer labs to meet my TA and sometimes the library. The tutoring lab is most beneficial and is very welcoming with always at least 3 TA's or helpers provided each time I go in.

Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Students who choose to enroll at Diablo Valley College will be taking the first of many steps toward their future success. With more than thirty career and technical programs available, DVC offers students a great education. Students will learn technical and life skills that will follow them into any university or career path they choose.

The DVC campus offers a variety of unique experiences for its students, including the opportunity to meet a diverse range of people. There are also many activities that enhance the student experience, such as clubs, sporting events, student government, DVC drama performances, and concerts.

When students were polled as to whether or not they would attend Diablo Valley College if given a second chance, the vast majority stated that they would. Students are treated like people here, not just as a number or a source of money. The professors and staff at DVC actually care about the students. Combined with the atmosphere of the campus, this makes Diablo Valley College a truly wonderful school to attend.
