Off-Campus Housing: Denison is a 4 year residency school, so all students live on campus. The only exception are a hand-full of student thats live within a certain mile radius away from school, even then some of those students decide to live on campus.

Off-Campus Dining: If you get tired of the dining halls many other eating options are not far from you. The only downside is having to walk up that big hill, but you get to burn the calories!

Campus Dining: Denison recently changed from Sodexo to Bon Appetit, which is just slightly an upgrade. After the first week or two you will basically have the lunch and dinner options memorized. The best places to eat on campus are Slayter and Huffman.

4 College Junior

Diversity: Even if some of the students do not accept ones diversity they tend to stay away and not cause problems.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: Safety and security are very important to Denison. This past semester many security cameras were installed due to the fact that they are needed and a good use.

4 College Junior

Academics: I am a psychology major at Denison University. The workload is acceptable and the professors are amazing.

5 College Junior

Academics: Academics are extremely important to Denison University. The registration process is almost like the Hunger Games, and so is housing lottery. Popular study spots are the library, Slayter, and basically all the academic buildings.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Lacrosse if pretty big at Denison University. The swim team is absolutely amazing and have beat national records.

Guys & Girls: There are a wide variety of students on campus. It really doesn't matter if they are attractive or not because the majority of them are outgoing and friendly. There is no specific way that people dress but very often you will find commonalities among those in Greek life. For example, the typical look for a guy in a frat is polos, sperrys, and salmon colored shorts and the typical look for a sorority girl is an olive green jacket, riding boots, tory burch, hunter rain boots/bean boots.

Greek Life: Greek life is kind of a big thing at Denison. Although statistics say otherwise, there are many people that go through the whole process. From a non-Greek the sororities and fraternities (mainly sororities) do not seem to hold that "sisterhood" they so much praise. I have many many friends who are associated in Greek Life and the majority of them absolutely love it. They do not exactly run the school, but you will find yourself dealing with a good portion of it even if you try to avoid it.

Facilities: The students at Denison are all very friendly and welcoming. The campus itself is constantly described as being "picture perfect," which I most definitely agree with. There are campus events for those who are not party-goers every weekend and traditions are always followed.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: More than half of the student body at Denison gets some sort of scholarship.

Campus Strictness: Campus is strict with underage drinking. However, they have a policy called "Medical Amnesty" which basically gives you a second chance not to mess up. Drug use is Very strict at Denison as well, but there are not "second chances" for it.

Guys & Girls: Denison is opening to anyone. All types of people call Denison home and feel completely comfortable with their own individual styles

Off-Campus Dining: Many small town shops and eateries create a delicious community atmosphere.

Academics: I am a chemistry major and I couldn't be happier! I have loved all my classes thus far. The chemistry faculty are extremely helpful and caring. Small class sizes contribute to the development of meaningful and beneficial relationships with professors. Research opportunities are very feasible.

Academics: The professors here are wonderful. Hard course challenge the brightest of minds

Health & Safety: I felt extremely safe on campus and was never worried about safety

Facilities: Denison is the most aesthetically beautiful campus I visited during my college search. The campus has odd traditions and activities such as Naked Week, a week dedicated to promoting self-acceptance by running naked around campus in student lead groups. Besides having events like this, the administration encourages students to create a campus in which everyone is comfortable and proud of.

Facilities: Denison is a unique school in my biased opinion. Although it is quite small and located in an oddly-small town, it has a great group of students and faculty unlike any other campus. Denisonians are expected to have a great balance between intellectuality and social skills. This makes most students at Denison a unique specimen to examine.

Off-Campus Dining: Denison is located in Granville, OH, which is a considerably small town. Granville does not allow chain stores or restaurants within the town for some reason. This makes small mom-and-pop joints as the only off-campus dining options within Granville. Along with having a small variety of restaurants, most close at an early time. This increases the importance of having a car or friends with cars.

Drug Safety: Although drugs and alcohol are a significant aspect on Denison's campus, it does not take away from academics. Students will always find ways around rules and policy, so having more enforcement than necessary may be useless to prevent drug use. However, most students know how to balance the work week and weekend fun.

Academics: International Studies is an up-and-coming major at Denison University. In the past, students would have to double-major when pursuing this major. Whether it was the lack of credibility or faculty advisory, this major was not a significant aspect of Denison. Because of this, most students still don't take the required courses seriously and discard the major as a whole. The toughest aspect of this major is that most students study abroad for at least one semester. Although it has been my goal to study in either Argentina or Spain, my current scholarship would not cover abroad tuition.

Academics: During the past year, I've had the privilege to be a student of seven different Denison professors and one traveling professor from Ohio State University. All professors, whether International Politics or Environmental Studies, have challenged my intellect and even study habits. Because Denison is a small school, all of these professors have given me the time to meet and discuss issues that I'm encountering. Either academically or socially, all of these professors have supported me throughout my first year, making it a fantastic academic start.

Pretty much everyone who comes to Denison ends up absolutely falling in love with it. The academics at Denison are exceptionally superior and definitely challenging. If you are willing to work hard and play hard, you will find yourself extremely satisfied with Denison. The academics alone draw students to Denison, but the incredible experience, the unforgettable people, and the beautiful atmosphere keep them here. It is not hard to find a lot of people that are extremely passionate and thankful for their Denison education—just ask any Denison alum. Denison students are proud to be Denisonians, and they would not have it any other way. Denison is by no means perfect. You will find something that will bother you at one point or another, but that goes along with every school. You get what you give at Denison, and if you make the best of everything, you will have an incredible experience. Denison truly becomes your second home, and you will find yourself missing it when you are not on campus. Denison is unlike any other school: Not only do you live among all of your peers, but most people are also friends with their professors, which results in a true feeling of belonging. No one can deny that being good-naturedly teased by a professor doesn't engender feelings of acceptance. A lot of students also value the safety of the campus and how easy it is to get from place to place. The students that are unhappy with Denison are generally displeased with the small social scene, lack of diversity, or the immense workload—all things which are a matter of one's individual perspective. At the end of the day, one cannot deny that the academic opportunities at Denison are seriously incredible. Denison not only has countless opportunities to study abroad, but it also has an amazing internship program and unbeatable alumni connections, helping students network and get jobs after college. Overall, Denison has everything you need for the perfect college experience.
