3 College Freshman

Majors: There are many different campuses but a lot of them do not offer all the courses needed to complete your degree. That can be an issue for students far away from the main campus which is located in Grand Rapids. I can complete half of my degree at the campus I am at now and after that I will have to either travel or enroll in online courses.

Diversity: There is a decent mix of views which allow for our classes to have interesting debates on many topics.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I do not eat out much, but just driving from place to place you can see a variety of choices. They are not inconvenient to travel to, but some may be busier than others.

2 College Freshman

Weather: I had classes canceled a few time. We also had to leave early due to weather. It is not their fault, we just keep getting slammed with mass amounts of snow that makes traveling extremely dangerous.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I have never noticed anyone drinking or using illegal drugs on campus. The students are here to learn, not socialize and do frivolous activities.

5 College Freshman

Computers: Very nice computers. They are all new and have no problems whatsoever. All the classrooms also have new projectors that are very functional and out of the way.

College Freshman

Transportation: I drive myself to and from school with my personal vehicle so I do not know much about the transportation.

College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Again, dorms are not available on my campus, so everyone lives off campus.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: I've lived here my whole life, so I'm a little sick of the same place all the time. Overall though i hear Holland is a nice place to live from outsiders. Beautiful scenery with the lake near by and dunes to hike. Parks everywhere! Overall it is an okay place to live, not too much crime, decent people.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: The financial aid counselors will make it all easy peasy!

College Junior

Campus Housing: My campus doesn't provide a housing option.

College Junior

Nightlife: I don't go to parties, and the bars in my town are okay at best.

College Junior

Athletics: My college is separated into many campuses throughout the state. The sports facilities and teams, and most clubs occur at the Grand Rapids campus. There are very few opportunities for us in Holland, unless we drive to Grand Rapids to participate. The Holland campus is one small building, so there are no sports facilities available to us at my campus.

Local Atmosphere: For the Lansing campus, there are many local attractions nearby. If you are into the arts, there is a local theatre. The mall is nearby. Michigan State University is close to Davenport and it offers many sporting events as well as theatrical events. Local attitude toward the students in not noticeable as all students are commuters and would fit into their local community without detection.

College Student

Athletics: I do not attend main campus where the varsity and inter-mural sports take place. I have only seen the facilities.

Off-Campus Housing: Housing is not available on campus. All students are commuters at the campus I attend. Not familiar with the campus that has housing available.

3 College Student

Diversity: Campus has a wide variety of students when comparing economic status - completely state/federal funded students to students that are employed and seeking better positions and ethnic/racial diversity - students are a fair mix of races as well as an occasional international student in the mix.

College Student

Academics: I am too new to this program to rate the academics

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of restaurants in Grand Rapids that are at a reasonable distance from campus. The price varies with whatever food they are buying. Overall the prices are very reasonable and affordable.

5 College Student

Scholarships: The aid I received paid for all the expenses my college required. I am happy I had the aid when entering college.

5 College Student

Computers: the campus offers a very nice lab center where students can go and work on homework. Some students like to have a computer of their own to bring to their dorms as well, but it is not a necessity.

5 College Student

Weather: Michigan has the best weather, but living here so long has made me use to the extreme weather changes.

5 College Student

Greek Life: The Greek life at Davenport is somewhat difficult to get into. They are looking for ambitious individuals who are willing to lead and represent the University.

5 College Student

Local Atmosphere: Davenport University is located in Grand Rapids, MI. This is a very large town and there are many other colleges near by to socialize with. There is always something to do in Grand Rapids with a short drive from campus.

5 College Student

Campus Strictness: Davenport University is a dry campus. No alcohol is permitted on campus and the same goes with drugs. The administrators are very strict about the campus rules involving alcohol and drugs.
