Facts & Statistics

Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • How cold a New Hampshire winter really is.
  • How few nice clothes I need and how many crazy clothes I could use.
  • How to ski . . . or camp.
  • That all that time I procrastinated could have been spent having fun.
  • That I only have time for two or three extracurricular activities.
  • That orientation is by far the best time to meet people-be sure to go to Frat Row.
  • That the Choates were nothing to worry about.
Interviews & Information Sessions
From January through mid-November, half-hour group sessions are conducted at 10 a.m. Monday-Friday. Information sessions are also held at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m on Saturdays from mid-September through mid-November. On-campus interviews are available to rising seniors from mid-June through mid-November. Please call the admissions office at least three weeks in advance of your visit to schedule an interview.
Campus Tours
Campus tours are conducted at various times throughout the year. During most of the fall, winter, and spring terms, they are given at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday-Friday, and at 10 a.m and 12 p.m. on Saturday. Additional tours are conducted during summer term and peak times, while tours may be cut during off-peak times, including when school is not in session. Always call ahead to confirm tour times.
Overnight Visits
Hosting is available for juniors in May and seniors in October and November. Students will stay with a current Dartmouth student on a Monday through Thursday night and must bring a sleeping bag and spending money. Please call the admissions office to schedule your stay. Dimensions Weekend, which takes place every spring, invites all accepted students to stay at Dartmouth for a weekend. It is an incredible time, and almost every student who goes ends up matriculating at Dartmouth.
