3 College Senior

Campus Dining: LOTS OF FAST FOOD. BEST PLACE IS APPLEBEES

2 College Senior

Academics: STAFF IS RUDE!

PROFESSORS ARE OKAY, SOME ARE VERY CARING OTHERS NOT SO MUCH. REGISTRATION IS A HASSLE AND ADVISORS ARE USELESS IN THE ADVISEMENT OFFICE. WORKLOAD CAN BE OVERBEARING. LIBRARY IS POPULAR BUT MAY PPL JUST GO TO HANG OUT ON THE FIRST FLOOR OF THE LIBRARY.

4 College Senior

Academics: I'VE BEEN A SOCIOLOGY MAJOR FOR ONE SEMESTER AND IT WAS GREAT. I GOT GOOD GRADES AND I AM GLAD I SWITCHED FROM BIOLOGY.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: BECAUSE IT IS LOCATED IN QUEENS -- COST IS HIGH BUT I BELIEVE THERE ARE AVAILABLE APARTMENTS

3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: NO MAJOR ISSUES THAT HAVE COME TO MY ATTENTION AS OF YET. BUT THEY DO REQUIRE YOU SHOW ID WHEN ENTERING THE BUILDING.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: OVERALL FEEL SAFE ON THE ACTUAL CAMPUS

2 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: COLLEGE IS LOCATED NEAR SOUTH JAMAICA WHICH IS A BAD AREA. THERE ARE LOTS OF STORES IN THE AREA, PERFECT FOR SHOPPING. HOWEVER, THE BEST PLACE TO EAT THERE IS THE LOCAL APPLEBEES, EVERYTHING ELSE IS FAST FOOD (MCDONALDS, WENDYS ETC.). TRANSPORTATION IS GREAT. TRAINSTATION, LOTS OF BUS STOPS AND DOLLAR VANS HELP YOU GET AROUND. AREA IS DIRTY. NO MUSEUMS OR ANY ATTRACTIONS (EXCEPT FOR RUFUS PARK).

1 College Sophomore

Athletics: I didn't even know there was a varsity sports team.

1 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The school is in Jamaica, Queens and upon exiting the train station, one is overwhelmed by homeless people, cops, and loiterers selling cigarettes. Not a great learning environment for college students.

1 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Horrible school, if you're an adult learner then go for it. Otherwise, you're better off going to a community college. The staff is rude, zero sense of community and feels like the 13th grade.

College Sophomore

Campus Housing: In being a commuter school, there are zero dorms.

3 College Junior

Academics: Workload is decent but internships and job opportunities of the psychology psychology department is limited and scare.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Public transportation is within walking distance. Also where the bus and train station is there are taxis there as well.

5 College Junior

Diversity: York College is the best place to make new friends and meet anyone from anywhere. It is the most diverse school thus far!!!

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: I think everything is decent for someone who wants to continue their college education

4 College Junior

Scholarships: Financial aid is great when you get it done as soon as possible. Any delays will give you stress and they will start to work on their own time.

2 College Junior

Greek Life: Only those of Divine 9, such as Phi Beta Sigma and AKA are known on campus

5 College Junior

Campus Strictness: The campus strictness is through the roof. There is no place to do wrong or end up in the wrong position. If you are looking to do wrong or spend the night in jail, do it front of York College and they will help you get there.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There is something for everyone!

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are a lot of housing rooms around the campus but there are in areas that most people consider to be dangerous. I say it only because they do not know the are and people's attitudes can misjudge them.

College Junior

Majors: I haven't started an internship from York as of yet or had their assistance in applying for one.

4 College Junior

Majors: I love the field that I am in. However, my biggest concern for my major is that it is extremely hard to land a job in the field. It has been said that a Master is needed in order to be considered to work in the field.

5 College Junior

Athletics: The athletic department is great. The health building itself is great and it has a friendly environment. That is where you will find all the athletes and every information that you need to know or would like to know about your health and physical features.

4 College Junior

Nightlife: Transportation is fair depending on your method of travel. Security guards are everywhere. For the parties it depend on which club that throws it but for the most part any party that is at night is always a success.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: York College is the only CUNY college that is as diverse as it is. As soon as you walk into the main building, there are flags up of all the nationalities of the students that attend York and there are many flags that are not up.
