4 College Junior

Academic Experience: All of our professors are amazing and treat you like adults and tell you that it is up to you to make a good grade.

4 College Junior

Student Body: We are all there to get the job done. To graduate and move on with our lives. There are people from all over here at the community college.

Campus Resources: The mymathlabs is always having problems since everyone in a math class or delevepmental math class are all using the same site. But as far as other resources go i feel they have a lot and their mind is in the right place about them but they close too early. Some of us have really bad hours and need help after class and stuff. I'd like to see some late night help programs.

Academic Experience: I just got here so everything's new to me really. There is a lot of help available at all times which is really nice

Tuition & Financial Aid: This process was also frustrating because no one would tell me the date that the scholarship applications are due and when payments are due.

Academic Flexibility: Lots of frustration with the registration process. They had told me that I didn't need to take any more prerequisites, but then I suddenly received a call that I need to take an English class B term or I couldn't progress to the next semester in the nursing program.
They won't give you the clinical schedule until the first week of class which makes it extremely difficult to make arrangements for work and childcare. Extremely frustrating!!!

Career Services: I don't even think that there is an alumni network.
I believe that my job prospects are open once I graduate and pass the NCLEX.

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: They have a new scheduler through their Web Adviser so you can find classes that fit your schedule.

Campus Resources: So far, I have had no troubles with Campus Resources such as the One Stop Center, Financial Aide or teachers offices.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: Allt he teachers, advisors, and deans here are committed to their students and committed to their field of study! You can easily see the passion that the staff has here on campus.

Career Services: I have gotten 3 jobs thanks to the help from Craven Community College! Emails go out once a week updated with available job listings from the area!

Academic Experience: I am planning to obtain my Associates in Arts from Craven Community College; Craven is an excellent choice for those considering transfer!

5 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Craven is always willing to work with their students face to face and figure out what classes, payment plans, and options meet most (if not all) of each students' needs. Paying for tuition is a smooth, understandable, and easy process each and every semester!

Career Services: Though I've never really dealt in the Career Services area while I was there, no one has really complained to me about it yet either. Our college has evolved a lot over the past few years and it seems to getting better as the years pass and the more our school grows.

Academic Experience: Currently I have my associates in Art. I didn't know when I got accepted into the Early College program, what I wanted to be at the time and while I do love to draw, it's not the career for me. I was completely undecided on what I wanted to do, until about a year ago where I decided that I wanted to do Conservation Biology. I plan on getting my Bachelor's in Natural Resources with my main concentration being in Conservation Biology. From what I've seen so far from the two college I've looked at, NC State has a pretty extensive program for my field of study, and there is an internship requirement in order to graduate. As for the workload, after reviewing the curricula I see it being a very busy 2 years ahead of me and with little time and money to lose. The facilities are breathtaking when you realize that this program is not a normal in doors in seat classroom type program. You're out in the field most of the time doing the research to give you the hands on experience you'll need when you enter the workforce. And to add on, when you go off for your internship you usually end up graduating and going to work for the business you interned with.

Student Body: I've been on the Craven Community campus for going on 7 years now since I was in the Early College program. I've never once had issues with the student body and almost always found them helpful when I needed help with something. Some of the students could have taken their studies a little more seriously since they were pretty much using their parent's money to pay for school while they were sitting around playing silly childish games. Overall it was a pretty decent place to go.

Academic Experience: I love being able to take the courses for Medical Office Administration online. Some of the teachers would give us a month between assignments so I didn't feel like I had enough to do to learn anything. Some classes I had to absolutely beg the instructor to give me the answers to the end-of-chapter questions so I could see how I did. It's not like this was a graded assignment. I just wanted to see if my answers were right to determine if I was learning the information correctly.

Campus Resources: I like it because everything is in one location. All student services are in one building. All classes are located in the same buildings. For instance, all nursing classes are in the same location. At ECU, I had to go all over just to get through my day. I hated that it was so spread out there. But Craven is organized logically. I appreciate that.

Campus Resources: The resources at my school are wonderful. I took a Custom Resumes course for free because of my unemployment. My college offers daycare for free for students with children. We also have a Career Workshop that stages mock interviews so students can practice interviewing with employers. I went to another resume workshop where I learned of a great opportunity for my first experience working in a real medical office.

5 College Senior

Student Body: I go to school online so this is kind of hard to say. The students I have met in the two classes I had to take on campus were honest, hard working, and outgoing. I still talk to a few of my classmates on the phone and on Facebook.

5 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I applied for my FAFSA late and got in school in the nick of time. The financial aid office worked with me and helped me get my Pell grant lined up for the whole school year. I am greatly appreciative of their help because I am now only two classes away from getting an Associate in Applied Science for Medical Office Administration.

3 College Student

Academic Experience: I am a Diatetics major, so I can't take any classes related to Dietetics. All i can take are my basic core classes.

4 College Student

Academic Flexibility: I feel like the school has a good schedule and has flexible hours for people who have children or work.

3 College Student

Tuition & Financial Aid: I feel like some professors care more than others. Some classes I feel like are a waste and some classes I feel like i'm getting my moneys worth. It all depends on who the professor is.

3 College Senior

Career Services: Since were at a college, post-graduation opportunities are much easier to obtain.
