4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are many options for off campus dining for normal breakfast, lunch, and dinner times. Not a lot of restaurants are open late. Cookout being the only one that stays open past about 10:30. Decent price ranges, convenient and plenty of variety.

Off-Campus Dining: There are lots of awesome restaurants within walking distance from Converse. This includes local places and other good restaurants that are chains. Some food is a little bit of a drive, but you could easily drive or walk to lots of places so a drive isn't necessary . There are cheap options for late at night. Most restaurants are pricey unless it's fast food, but they're worth the money when you have it.

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of options for food off campus.

Off-Campus Dining: Although there is a variety of fast food chains, other than Sun King and Mr. Gatti's, there really isn't much as far as restaurants go. I prefer Sun King over anything else because the food is good, the price is right, and it's all you can eat. That's the best "bang for your buck" when on a college budget.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are numerous diverse dining choices both within walking distance, or a short drive.

Spartanburg is a really solid city for off-campus dining, and students are generally satisfied with the options available to them. There are two restaurants, Converse Deli and Mellow Mushroom, that are within easy walking distance from the school. There is also a great deal of variety in the offerings: Southern meat, fast food, burgers and fries, Mexican, Indian, Thai, Chinese, and more. Since there are so many restaurants in Spartanburg, it is very easy to find variety and satisfaction in your choices while still eating inexpensively.

However, there are disadvantages to eating out in Spartanburg. It is truly difficult to find vegan and vegetarian dishes in the area. If you’re vegan or vegetarian, you may want to forgo eating out altogether. It is also difficult to find any place that is open late at night. The only options for eating after 10 p.m. are Cook Out and Papa’s Breakfast Nook. Also, Papa’s Breakfast Nook and Wade’s only take cash, so find out which ones those are and be prepared when you go. Other than the serious lack of options for vegan and vegetarian dinners, the difficulty of finding places to eat later at night, and the occasional cash-only restaurant, dining off campus in Spartanburg is not a problem.
