Overall Experience at Los Medanos College:
The work is not hard, the professors are good if you know who is invested and who isn't.
Tuition & Financial Aid at Los Medanos College:
I took 13 units two semesters ago and I have not been able to return because I don't have the money to pay for my tuition and I did not receive financial aid because of the credits that I have already completed. One class was worth to $40+/credit, but that's because of the hands on experience and the wealth of information that I was able to acquire. I don't feel like any other class has ever been worth that much. In regards to financial aid, I feel like I'm given the run around. I complete the packet, turn it in, and when I don't receive any aid I'm told it's because I need to complete more forms. When I complete them, I'm told that there are more forms still. Just do me a favor and give me a list of every single form that I need to turn in so that I can do it all at once.
Online Courses at Los Medanos College:
I like that I get to choose when I can participate in discussion, but I also feel that that freedom is what can hold me back. Compared to a traditional classroom setting, it's a hassle. I'd rather sit in a class, read the text, take notes and participate in a group discussion with people and my instructor in front of me.
Campus Resources at Los Medanos College:
Campus resources like the library and computer labs are great. The campus aesthetics are great despite the current construction. The pond and nature reserve help with that. There aren't a lot of campus activities, but I don't mind because I'm focused on studying.
Career Services at Los Medanos College:
I don't know anything about LMC's career services.
