4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Without my financial aid package I could not have attended.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Columbia has some very difficult policies regarding financial aid. For example, they meet 100% of projected need. However, if you receive outside scholarships, that money cannot be used to pay the remaining balance on your tuition, rather Columbia will just revoke some of it's aid and you are left with the same amount on the bill.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I need more aid than they are willing to give, though that is not to say they have given me nothing. I do receive aid and it is 100% of my "projected" need, but what they deem we can offer and what my family actually can are two very different things.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I received financial aid but my family still struggles to pay the amount that is expected of us.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: Columbia has fairly generous policies on scholarships, stipends, and fellowships, and you can usually find whatever financial support you need. The only negative: administrative crosstalk between departments is exceedingly weak, and the myriad offices (Global Programs, Financial Aid, Advising, etc.) are prone to miscommunication.
