2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There are so many ways to get drugs and alcohol on and off campus. The local liquor stores do not I.D. which makes it very easy for underage to get alcohol and the overage students are willing to buy drugs and alcohol for the underage.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Since weed is legal here, there are a lot of students who get high and come to class high. But there are few students who excessively drink or come to class with a hangover or drunk.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I have never seen anyone drinking or using drugs on campus!

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: policy on campus is great. no alcohol or drugs on campus or the dorms. outside of campus there is alcohol usage but there is not a lot of peer pressure to do them. you do not have partake in that and no one treats you different if you dont.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drugs are definitely around. People have asked me at parties if I wanted cocaine or Adderall. I say no because I am old enough to know better, but I also know that drug use isn't really a topic at my school in regards to avoiding some and what they can do to you physically.

Just like every college—yes—there are drugs and alcohol on campus. Colorado State University Pueblo claims to be a dry campus, even if you are of age. The University claims to give out two warnings if you are caught with drugs or alcohol, and on the third one, you will be kicked out. However, with the low security on campus, you are able to get away with pretty much anything. There are students who walk to class smoking weed out in the open. Speaking of which, it's important to mention that weed is a big deal in Pueblo. Everyone smokes weed; it’s a Colorado thing. However, although weed is available to anyone who wants it, it is not a big deal if you’re not interested.

The same goes with drinking. There are house and dorm parties every weekend and something during the week where people will get drunk. Pretty much it’s the same as high school; if you didn’t drink then and still don’t want to, it's not a big deal. Excluding the campus, Pueblo and a lot of Colorado have a big Meth problem. It’s mostly with the gangs and people who have been hooked on it for years, but it is still a concern for the town.
