Academic Experience: That I will be able to major in what I want.

College Junior

Online Courses: all my classes are "on ground".

Academic Experience: Well being a business management major at a school whose main focus in the medical field makes it very different. One thing is I am a few in a sea of scrubs. Since my major isn't the largest field, my class student to teacher ratio is smaller so it is a more personalized class. The workload hasn't been overwhelming yet and I really don't see it being to big in the future. The curriculum is great, all of the subjects are geared to my degree of study and makes it easier to understand. The facilities are perfect for this type of school, it would be rather uneven if the school was bigger with the same amount of students. There are internships available when you reach that point in your studies, in fact there is an externship that you do as a final before graduation, if you get fired from that you fail the course. The career center gives plenty of job opportunities for those who seek help from Bryce.

Academic Experience: The Academics...hmm well the professors I had and have now have all been great. They are very personable and since we are small class sizes all questions are answered and explained. I can only comment on my curriculum, I took a look at my schedule course program and nearly fainted! I had a lot of required classes, however I realized that some of these classes I take only twice a week and this is a 4 week mod program. So then I relaxed and said "I got this". We have tutors available for free in the library if we need help on any subject everything from APA style papers to anatomy to computer programming C++. So that is pretty good. I know that I will be using them in the future. The programs most associated with out school is the Medical Assisting and CNA programs.

Campus Resources: It isn't fancy, and like I said it is in an old Circuit City building. We have no athletic department, our student center is the size of a high school class room. The library is a bit smaller than that, but has a decent computer lab and free tutoring available. The building isn't much to look at but its low over head lowers the tuition from more classic college campuses.

Campus Resources: Our school network is Wi-Fi. Our computer lab is located in the library and has about 10 computers available for use. We are given laptops as part of our school book/equipment so we can use them there or anywhere on or in the building. As far as the speed goes...I am not that sure, since speed is governed by the processing speed of the computer. It is very reliable, although sometimes the teacher can't get on but us students can. Some students have problems, while I haven't yet. There is a need to have your own computer since some of our class work is done by researching subjects online. Or in the case of my computer apps 101 class we need it for our powerpoint presentations, and word processing tasks. I haven't had to use the printing services yet so I don't know anything about them.

Academic Flexibility: Well so far I haven't had to change my schedule to fit around work or family. They do offer evening and online classes if the need arises. I haven't transferred any credits being a first time student.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Well the tuition was a bit of a shocker, however the financial aid officer Marcelyn explained it and it wasn't so bad. She help me with my fasfa application along with a student loan. Both which I was approved for. I am currently also applying for scholarships as well. If anyone wants to talk financial aid Marcelyn has an open door and will be glad to help you out. She uses plain English so you can understand everything. It is easier than you think, and I know that the money issue is one of the (if not the biggest) hurdles anyone will have when thinking about college.
Yes the money I am paying is worth every penny. The education in valuable, and it will keep paying after I get my career when I graduate. Simple as that.

Career Services: Well, since I just started at College America, I do not have personal experience yet with their services. However during orientation, I was told that I could use the career services for life for free. Being a small school our career center is the size of a janitor's closet but Bryce who is the career counselor does a lot of work looking for job openings, finding job fairs and giving guidance on resume's.

Overall Experience: My experience has been surprising in a positive way. I am 50 years old and never thought I would be back in the classroom again. I was a so-so student in high school and got average grades. With College America being an accelerated program, I don't have the unnecessary classes that a traditional college would assign. My courses are geared to my degree choice, that makes the stress level way down and I am more relaxed and enjoy my classes. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't change a thing. It is just right for me.

Facilities: Since it is an accelerated structure of study, we have a small campus. It is in an old Circuit City Building. Our class room sizes are small, which is great for one on one face time with the instructors. We have a split level "student center" in the middle of the building. Our career center has a lot of available information on resume's who is hiring and how to present yourself at interviews. They have fun activities during different times of the year for faculty and students to participate in. I like it.

4 College Junior

Student Body: Most of the student body are studying in the medical field (i.e medical assisting, cna, and the like. I am there for business management and so my "peers" are a smaller crowd. There is also computer tech classes and they are even fewer. However all in all, being a small campus we are very diverse and open. You really cannot tell anything about our political, religious views. There really is no challenges except for the ones we create ourselves.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: The school is great, I have been looking for schools for a while and then came across CollegeAmerica and talked to a recruiter and realized that this was the school for me.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: At CollegeAmerica they provide you with brand new HP laptops and it is pre loaded with everything you need to accomplish school and the network is perfect, I have not had any problems.

5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education I'm getting is worth the money I'm paying. I had some help for financial aid and I also received a scholarship from College America. I'm fine with all my expense because I believe when I graduate I will be very successful because of College America and their wonderful help.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: I'm a Medical Specialist trying to get my associates degree, my class are really great I have learned a lot so far, and I plan and learning a lot more throughout the year. All the classes I'm going to take are related to what I want to major in.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: The professors are really involved with the students, when a student needs help the professor is right by them helping them through every step.

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: The main reason why I choose College America is because it's a great school the teachers and the students are great. This school provides morning and evening classes so if some student work morning they would come to school during the night and night workers will come in the morning for school.

5 Recent Alumnus

Career Services: You never feel like a number when getting help from Mr. Ramsey. He always give updates to you as soon as he gets them.
